Rosewood is an unincorporated community in Wayne County, North Carolina, United States, located at the intersection of NC 581 and Rosewood Road, 1 mile south of U.S. Route 70. [1]

The community contains an elementary(k-5), middle(6-8), and high(9-12) school. Rosewood Middle is at the intersection of Rosewood Road and NC 581 S. in the original Rosewood School building. Rosewood High School is adjacent to the middle school on Rosewood Road. The elementary school is on the corner of Rosewood Road and Charlie Braswell Road.
The community operates two volunteer fire departments, Rosewood and Oakland. There are several churches of various denominations within Rosewood including Rosewood First Baptist, Rosewood Church of God, Pine Forest United Methodist Church, Barnes Chapel Church, and Westwood United Methodist Church.[ citation needed ]

In recent years the city of Goldsboro has satellite annexed areas nearby the community in order for several stores to move into the area. The main industry is still farming including hog and chicken houses as well as tobacco, corn, sweet potato, strawberry, cotton, and soybean farming.

U.S. Route 117 (US 117) is a north-south United States Highway located completely within the state of North Carolina. A spur route of US 17, the highway runs for 114 miles (183 km) from the Port of Wilmington, south of downtown Wilmington, to US 301 near Wilson. From its southern terminus, US 117 runs along Shipyard Boulevard and College Road, concurrent with North Carolina Highway 132 (NC 132) through Wilmington. US 117 intersects the eastern terminus of Interstate 40 (I-40) and parallels the interstate until reaching Faison, passing through Burgaw, Wallace, and Warsaw. The highway diverges from I-40 in Faison, running north-northeast through Mount Olive, Goldsboro, and Pikeville to its northern terminus. US 117 meets the southern end of I-795 in Goldsboro, and parallels that route before reaching its northern terminus at US 301 south of Wilson.

Cleveland is an unincorporated community in suburban northwestern Johnston County, North Carolina, United States. It lies at an elevation of 243 feet (74 m). The settlement is also known as Cleveland Crossings, Cleveland Community, Cleveland School or 40/42, so named for the intersection of I-40 and NC 42 at the northeastern edge of the community, which serves as the primary commercial hub of the area. NC 50 skirts the western edge of the community. The community's population is concentrated along Cleveland Road in Johnston County. While officially unincorporated, postal addresses for the community generally lie in Garner, Clayton and Benson. The community is named for the Cleveland School, a former K-12 school lying on Cleveland Road, the grounds of which currently house a community center, senior adult housing, a gymnasium and numerous athletic fields managed by the Greater Cleveland Athletic Association (GCAA), and a branch of the Johnston Community College. Nearby unincorporated communities include McGee's Crossroads to the south along NC 50 and Willow Spring to the west along NC 42.
U.S. Route 13 (US 13) is a United States Numbered Highway running from Eastover, North Carolina to Morrisville, Pennsylvania. In North Carolina, it runs along a northeast–southwest alignment for 189.1 miles (304.3 km) connecting the cities of Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Greenville, Williamston, and Ahoskie. The southern terminus is located at Interstate 95 (I-95) and I-295 near Eastover. From the terminus, US 13 travels along a northeastern–southwestern alignment through Newton Grove to US 117 in Mar-Mac. US 13 runs concurrently along US 117 north to Goldsboro, where it also shares a brief concurrency with US 70. The highway continues northeastward to Greenville and then turns to the north until reaching US 64 near Bethel. US 13 and US 64 run concurrently to the east until Williamston where US 13 diverges to the north, concurrent with US 17. In Windsor, US 13 diverges from US 17 and runs northward through Ahoskie. US 13 turns to the northeast near Winton and continues in that direction until reaching the Virginia state line near Gates.
