Royal FC [1] [2] is a professional football club based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The club was founded in 2021 and competes in the UAE 1st Division. [3]

History

Royal FC [4] quickly rose through the ranks of UAE football, starting in the UAE Third Division League and winning the championship to secure promotion to the 2nd Division in their inaugural 2022–2023 season. [5] [6] [7] [8] In the following season, they were contenders for promotion to the 1st Division, narrowly missing out by a few points. Notable achievements include producing the highest goal scorer in their division, Ousseynou Tall, [9] who has prior experience in the Argentine Primera División.

This program, the first of its kind in the UAE, will provide aspiring young footballers with a comprehensive environment to nurture their talents and academic development. While further details about the program are likely forthcoming, its introduction highlights Royal FC's dedication to pushing the boundaries of youth football development in the UAE.

The 2019–20 UAE Pro League was the 46th edition of the UAE Pro League. On 26 April 2019, Khor Fakkan won the first division title over Al Taawon 3–0; this is their inaugural appearance on the pro league as Khor Fakkan Club as they were previously known as Al Khaleej, having been absent from the Pro League for twelve years. Hatta later returned to the pro league after a 1–0 away victory against Al Hamriyah secured them a spot on the first division after getting relegated a year ago. Sharjah are the defending champions. The League was put on hold on March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however on June, with the majority of 12 out of 14 clubs votes, the league was cancelled and the champion is yet to be decided. On 18th of June, it was declared that this season will end with no champion despite Shabab Al-Ahli leading the table with 43 points and the same teams that qualified for the 2020 AFC Champions League will qualify for the 2021 AFC Champions League.

UAE Second Division League is the third tier of football league competition in the United Arab Emirates, the league is organised by UAE Football Association for private funded clubs and universities with amateur teams. The league was established in 2019. The league featured 10 teams who played each other twice in its first season however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE footballing season was cancelled and declared a void and all results were null. The UAE FA set a strategy to support featuring more privately owned clubs and football academies in the UAE Football Pyramid. Ahead of the 2022–23 season, the UAE FA confirmed that the format of league will remain as 12 teams, with the introduction of the UAE Third Division League with a promotion-relegation system.

Zamalek SC, commonly referred to as Zamalek, is an Egyptian sports club based in Cairo, known for its professional football team, and is considered as one of the most successful teams in Africa and one of the continent's giants. The history of Zamalek SC originates in 1911, when the club was founded by George Merzbach on January 5 as Qasr El Nile. In 1913 the club moved its headquarters to the present-day intersection of 26 July Street and Ramses and became the Cairo International Sports Club "Zamalek", colloquially known as Nady El Qāhirah El Mokhtalat. 2020–21 UAE Division one was the 44th Division one season. Since last season was cancelled and no promotion was rewarded, there were no team changes taken place this season. On the 17 April, both Al Urooba and Emirates secured promotion after defeating Dhaid and Masafi respectively.
