UAE Second Division League is the third tier of football league competition in the United Arab Emirates, the league is organised by UAE Football Association for private funded clubs and universities with amateur teams. The league was established in 2019. [1] The league featured 10 teams who played each other twice in its first season [2] however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE footballing season was cancelled and declared a void and all results were null. [3] [4] The UAE FA set a strategy to support featuring more privately owned clubs and football academies in the UAE Football Pyramid. [5] Ahead of the 2022–23 season, the UAE FA confirmed that the format of league will remain as 12 teams, with the introduction of the UAE Third Division League with a promotion-relegation system. [6]

The 2019–20 UAE Pro League was the 46th edition of the UAE Pro League. On 26 April 2019, Khor Fakkan won the first division title over Al Taawon 3–0; this is their inaugural appearance on the pro league as Khor Fakkan Club as they were previously known as Al Khaleej, having been absent from the Pro League for twelve years. Hatta later returned to the pro league after a 1–0 away victory against Al Hamriyah secured them a spot on the first division after getting relegated a year ago. Sharjah are the defending champions. The League was put on hold on March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however on June, with the majority of 12 out of 14 clubs votes, the league was cancelled and the champion is yet to be decided. On 18th of June, it was declared that this season will end with no champion despite Shabab Al-Ahli leading the table with 43 points and the same teams that qualified for the 2020 AFC Champions League will qualify for the 2021 AFC Champions League.

2019–20 UAE Division two was the first UAE Division two season. The competition was created to create more clubs and increase the number of players in UAE. The season will feature 10 teams, 4 from Abu Dhabi, 4 from Dubai and 1 from Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman respectively. The season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates.

2020–21 UAE Division two is the second season of newly formed third tier Emirati football league and it will be the first to be completed as the 2019–20 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This season will feature 15 teams split into two groups, one containing 8 teams while the other containing 7. This season will see an increase in teams from the previous season which only included 10 teams. This season will include the majority of last year's participants with the exception of Quattro and Al Falah who both are supposed to be promoted to the UAE First Division League but their step towards the 2nd tier league was denied due to the cancellation and difficult facilities of the clubs preventing them from climbing the UAE football pyramid. Abtal Al Khaleej were crowned the champions of this season after defeating City 3–0 in the final.

2021–22 UAE Division Two is the third season of the third tier Emirati football league. This season sees only 12 teams enter as Abtal Al Khaleej and Dubai City were promoted to the UAE First Division League and Al Dar Collage withdrew from the competition.

The league was established for the 2021–22 season. 12 teams participated in the first edition, divided in two groups of six. On 6 July 2022, UAEFA announced that the number of participants will increase from 12 to 16 teams for the 2022–23 season, an increase of 4 teams from the 2021–22 season.

Gulf United Football Club is an Emirati professional football club that started as an academy in Al Jaddaf, Dubai. The club is well known for nurturing young talent, playing exhibition matches against professional overseas teams and for being one of leading football brands in the Middle-East.

The 2022–23 Iraqi First Division League was the 49th season of what is now called the Iraqi Premier Division League, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have varied throughout history for various reasons. The top two teams are promoted to the Iraq Stars League, while the bottom two teams in each group are directly relegated to the Iraqi Second Division League.

2023–24 UAE Division One is the 47th Division one season. This season saw the first time two teams got relegated to the 3rd tier as Al Fursan and Baynounah got relegated a season after promotion.
