Rudra, also credited as Ashwini, or Ashwini Nambiar is an Indian actress who has appeared in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil films and serials. [1] [2] She made her acting debut with the 1991 Tamil film Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu . Her roles in Kauravar (1992), Manichitrathazhu (1993), Kizhakku Cheemayile (1993) Dhruvam (1993), Pidakkozhi Koovunna Noottaandu (1994) and Kudumbakodathi (1996) are well noted. [3]
When Ashwini was in her final year of school, she did a couple of modelling assignments with her classmates, for a Malayalam magazine. Director Bharathiraja saw the magazine and offered her the role in Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu . [3] Post marriage she moved to Singapore and is currently acting in Singapore serial and short films.
Rudra made her debut in the Tamil film Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu , directed by Bharathiraja. She had done about 16 films in Malayalam, [3] with her best known role as Alli in the classic Manichitrathazhu (1993) [4] She has acted as Chiranjeevi's sister in Hitler (1997).

Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai is an Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer. She acts predominantly in Malayalam films along with Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and English films. Manichitrathazhu is a 1993 Indian Malayalam-language epic psychological horror film directed by Fazil, written by Madhu Muttam, and produced by Swargachitra Appachan. The film stars Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Shobana with Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Vinaya Prasad, K.P.A.C.Lalitha, Sridhar, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Sudheesh, and Thilakan in supporting roles. The story is inspired by a tragedy that happened in an Ezhava tharavad, the Alummoottil meda, located at Muttom, belonging to a central Travancore Channar family, in the 19th century. The writer of the film, Madhu K Panicker or Madhu Muttom, is a member of the Alummoottil Tharavad.
