Runar Steinstad (born 4 June 1967) is a Paralympian athlete from Norway competing mainly in F42 classification throwing events. [1]
Steinstad first represented Norway at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, entering the long jump, 100 metre sprint and javelin throw events (F42). In the subsequent Paralympics after Sydney, Steinstad dropped the long jump and sprint events and focused on the javelin. [2] He competed at both the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens and the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, finishing in the javelin sixth and tenth respectively. [2] Paralympic success came in the 2012 Games in London, where he threw a distance of 48.90 to claim the bronze medal. [2]
As well as his Paralympic appearances, Steinstad has also been part of six Norwegian teams to compete at the IPC Athletics World Championships, beginning in Birmingham, England in 1998 and has successfully qualified for the subsequent five games, taking him up to Doha in 2015. At the World Championships he has won a silver and two bronze medals, all in the javelin throw. [2]
Steinstad was born in Bø, Norway in 1967. Whilst a teenager, Steinstad was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). His left leg was amputated above the knee to treat the disease. [2]

Madeleine Hogan is a Paralympic athlete from Australia competing mainly in category F42/F46 javelin throw events. She has won bronze medals at the 2008 Summer Paralympics and 2012 Summer Paralympics. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics.

Jessica Gallagher is an Australian Paralympic alpine skier, track and field athlete, tandem cyclist and rower. She was Australia's second female Winter Paralympian, and the first Australian woman to win a medal at the Winter Paralympics at the 2010 Vancouver Games. She competed at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, where she won a bronze medal in the women's giant slalom visually impaired.
Hollie Beth Arnold, is a British parasport athlete competing in category F46 javelin. Although born in Grimsby, she now lives and trains in Loughborough. She represents Wales in the Commonwealth Games. Arnold was the youngest ever field athlete to ever compete in the Paralympics/Olympics, at the age of 14 at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing throwing a personal best. She also threw a personal best in 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. She took the gold medal in the F46 javelin in the 2016 Rio Paralympics, also throwing a new world record at the same time. In 2021, at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, she took the bronze medal in the same event. In 2018, she became the first ever Javelin thrower in history to hold all four major titles in the same Paralympic/Olympic 4-year cycle: Rio Paralympics and world record 2016, London World Championships and world record 2017, Berlin European Championships and course record 2018 and Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and world record 2018. She also holds four consecutive world titles: 2013 Lyon, 2015 Doha, 2017 London, and 2019 Dubai.
Aled Siôn Davies is a Welsh Paralympian athlete competing mainly in category F42 throwing events. In 2012 he became the world record holder of the F42 shot put and in the 2012 Summer Paralympics he took the bronze medal in shot put and gold in the discus. In 2013 Davies took the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus in Lyon. He won double gold in his home country at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in the shot put and discus. This followed his silver medal in the F42-44 discus from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he represented Wales. Davies also took part in the Channel 4 TV series Celebrity SAS: Who dares wins
The 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships was the biggest track and field competition for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Lyon, France, and lasted from 20 to 28 July. Around 1,100 athletes competed, from 94 different countries. The event was held in the Stade du Rhône located at the Parc de Parilly in Vénissieux, in Lyon Metropolis.
Helgi Sveinsson is a Paralympian athlete from Iceland competing in throwing, sprint and jumping events. He is a F42/T42 category athlete. At the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships he threw a competition record to take the gold medal.
Holly Irene Robinson is a New Zealand para-athlete, primarily competing in the javelin throw. She represented New Zealand at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, winning silver in 2016 and gold in 2020. At the 2016 Games, she was New Zealand's flagbearer for the opening ceremony.
Union Sekailwe is a Paralympian athlete from South Africa competing mainly in category T38 sprint events. Sekailwe competed for his country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he won a bronze medal in the 400 metre sprint. Sekailwe has competed at World Championship level on two occasions, picking up three medals. He has also competed in long jump at the Paralympics, and in the javelin throw at the World Championships.

Kamran Shokrisalari is a Paralympian athlete from Iran competing mainly in F42 classification throwing events.
Sanela Redžić is a Bosnian disabled athlete who competes for her nation. She has won bronze medals at the IPC Athletics European and World Championships, and placed fourth in her event at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
Uzbekistan competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021.
Mauricio Valencia is a Colombian Paralympic athlete with cerebral palsy. He represented Colombia at the Summer Paralympics in 2012, 2016 and 2021. At the 2016 Summer Paralympics, he won two medals: the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F34 event and the bronze medal in the men's shot put F34 event. In 2021, he won the silver medal in the men's javelin throw F34 event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
