Sport Club Miramar (also in Capeverdean Crioulos of ALUPEC or ALUPEK and Maio) is a football is a football club that plays in the Maio regional championships in Cape Verde and is a member of the Maio Regional Football Association. It is based in the village of Ribeira Dom João in the southeast of Maio, Cape Verde. They currently play in the Maio Premier Division. The club plays at Estádio 20 de Janeiro in the island capital Cidade do Maio to the west. The level is a beginner club.

The Alfabeto Unificado para a Escrita do Caboverdiano, commonly known as ALUPEC, is the alphabet that was officially recognized by the Cape Verdean government to write Cape Verdean Creole.

Maio Creole is the name given to the variant of Cape Verdean Creole spoken mainly in the Maio Island of Cape Verde. It belongs to the Sotavento Creoles branch. It numbers the entire island population which includes a small part which also speaks Portuguese, in 2005, the percentage was 1.36%.

About Miramar of Maio

In 2015, along with Cruzeiro, Figueirense and Real Marítimo, it became a registered club on the island. The club competed for the first time in the Second Division for the 2016 season. Their first match was a 1-2 loss to Real Marítimo on January 24. A week later, they made the club's first win with a 0-1 victory over Figueirense. Their last Second Division match was a 1-0 win over Santa Clara played on March 18, they finished first for the 2017 season and became the second champion of the Second Division and earned entry into the Premier Division to become the ninth club at the regional second tier competition.

Miramar qualified into the second regional Champion's Trophy and lost 5-0 to the Premier Division champ Onze Unidos, Miramar's first Premier Division match was a 0-2 lost to Morrerense Morrerense. Miramar's first Premier Division win came on January 14, 2018 where they defeated the island's top club Onze Unidos 2-0. Miramar's successes were moderate. On February 24, Miramar suffered a huge 1-5 loss to Académico 83 and two more losses came, a goal draw with Real Marítimo came on March 17. Miramar's two remaining matches were successful,, a 4-0 win over Académica da Calheta, then the regional association awarded an 0-3 win over Santana de Morrinho, a club who would finish last, the reason that they did not shown up on the final match of the season. Miramar made a their greatest position finishing fifth and will spend their second consecutive season in the Premier Division, the ninth club to do so in Maio's second tier history.

The 'Maio Champion's Cup or the Maio Champion's Trophy is a single knockout football (soccer) competition that is played each season in the island of Maio, Cape Verde. The competition features the champion from the Premier Division and the champion of the Second Division. The trophy competition is organized by the Maio Regional Football Association. Its current winner is Onze Unidos who won their only title.

CD Onze Unidos

Clube Desportivo Onze Unidos is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Maio Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the island of Maio Island. Since the implementation of the Second Division in 2015, Since the implementation of the Second Division in 2015, Onze Unidos are one of five unrelegated clubs of Maio.
