The Maio Second Division is a tier-3 regional championship played in Maio Island, Cape Verde. The competition is organized by the Maio Regional Football Association (Associação Regional do Maio de Futebol, ARMF). [1] The winner of the championship plays in the Maio Premier Division in the following season

Maio is the easternmost of the Sotavento islands of Cape Verde. Maio is located south of the island of Boa Vista and east of Santiago. Administratively, the island forms one concelho (municipality): Maio.

Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles. In ancient times these islands were referred to as "the Islands of the Blessed" or the "Fortunate Isles". Located 570 kilometres (350 mi) west of the Cape Verde Peninsula off the coast of Northwest Africa, the islands cover a combined area of slightly over 4,000 square kilometres (1,500 sq mi).

Maio Regional Football Association is a football (soccer) association covering the island of Maio. It is headquartered in Cidade do Maio. It is affiliated to the Capeverdean Football Federation. Its current president is Odílio who became in late 2016.

The division was formed in 2015 along with the north of Santiago and are the recent that were created today, it consisted of four clubs, Real Marítimo was the first to participate, it would have consist of five clubs for the 2016-17 season, as Beira Mar withdrew due to financial reasons, it continued to have four clubs. [1] The 2017-18 was the third with four clubs as the regional association added another club into the Second Division alongside two additional rounds for the season.

The 2017-18 season will only have the champion that will qualify into the Premier Division next season, Figueirense won their only title of the Second Division and will be the qualifier.
