The women's Laser Radial was a sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics that took place from 25 July to 1 August at Kamakura. 11 races (the last one a medal race) were scheduled. [1]
Medals were presented by IOC Member for Cuba Mrs Maria de la Caridad Colon Ruenes and World Sailing Chief Executive Officer David Graham.

The Laser was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2008 Summer Olympics program in Qingdao International Sailing Centre. Eleven races were scheduled. Only ten races were completed including the medal race due to lack of wind. 43 sailors, on 43 boats, from 43 nations competed. Ten boats qualified for the medal race.

Xu Lijia is a Chinese sailboat racer who won a bronze medal in women's Laser Radial class at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a gold medal in the same event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she was the flag bearer for China at the closing ceremony.

The Men's Finn was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics program in Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Eleven races were scheduled and completed. 24 sailors, on 24 boats, from 24 nations competed. Ten boats qualified for the medal race on course area Nothe in front of Weymouth, where each position scored double points.
Philipine van Aanholt is a female sailor from Curaçao, competing mainly in the Laser Radial class. She is a two-time Women World Champion in non-Olympic classes. In 2008 and 2009 she was chosen Curaçao's Youth Sports Women of the year. After the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands Antilles lost its recognition by the International Olympic Committee following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, van Aanholt was allowed to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics as an Independent Olympic Athlete. In 2016, she represented neighboring island Aruba at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She was Aruba's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2023, she won silver in the Sunfish class at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.
Sailing competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 25 July to 4 August 2021 at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor in Enoshima. The venue was also used for the 1964 Olympic Games although significantly regenerated, the IOC now encouraging regeneration, cost reductions and sustainability. The RS:X, Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, 470, 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra17 are all returning for 2020; there are no significant changes to the Olympic programme from 2016.
The women's Laser Radial competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place between 8–16 August at Marina da Glória. Eleven races were scheduled. Due to weather conditions the medal race was postponed a day.
Nur Shazrin binti Mohamad Latif is a Malaysian competitive sailor. She won a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games for the Women's ILCA 6, the first gold medal for the nation in the games. She won two gold medals at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, in the women's Laser Radial. She won a bronze medal in Laser Radial at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2021, in Laser Radial. She is the flag bearer of Malaysia at the 2024 Summer Olympics opening ceremony alongside diver Bertrand Rhodict Lises.
The women's Laser Radial class at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships was held in Santander, Spain 12–18 September.
The Laser competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the men's one-person dinghy event and was held in Enoshima, Japan, from 25 July to 1 August 2021. 35 sailors from 35 nations competed in 11 races, including one medal-race where points were doubled. The land venue was Enoshima Yacht Harbour and races were held on Sagami Bay.
The women's RS:X was a sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics that took place between 25 and 31 July at Enoshima Yacht Harbor. Thirteen races are scheduled.
The women's 470 was a sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the 470 dinghy that took place between 28 July and 2 August 2021 at Enoshima Yacht Harbor. 11 races were be held. 21 teams qualified for the event.
The women 49er FX was a sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics and took place between 27 July and 3 August. The defending champions, Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil, won the event. Tina Lutz and Susann Beucke from Germany were the second, and Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz from the Netherlands won the bronze medal. For Lutz, Beucke, Bekkring, and Duetz this was the first Olympic medal.
The mixed Nacra 17 was a sailing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics that took place between 28 July–3 August at Kamakura. 13 races were held.
