A smartphone is a portable computer device that combines mobile telephone functions and computing functions into one unit. They are distinguished from older-design feature phones by their stronger hardware capabilities and extensive mobile operating systems, which facilitate wider software, access to the internet, and multimedia functionality, alongside core phone functions such as voice calls and text messaging. Smartphones typically contain a number of metal–oxide–semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit (IC) chips, include various sensors that can be leveraged by pre-installed and third-party software, and support wireless communication protocols. More recently, smartphone manufacturers have begun to integrate satellite messaging connectivity and satellite emergency services into devices for use in remote regions where there is no reliable cellular network.
Pantech Inc. is a South Korean company that manufactures mobile phones. Established in 1991, its market is mainly domestic with partners in the United States, Japan, China, Europe and Vietnam. In 2012 Pantech was the second best-selling handset maker in South Korea, according to Gartner. In 2013 Samsung Electronics bought a 10% stake in Pantech. Pantech also partners with PCD for specialized phones.
Motorola Krzr, known as the "Canary" before its release, is a series of clamshell/flip mobile phones by Motorola, and is one of the series in the 4LTR line. The first phone was released in July 2006.
The Samsung SGH-U600, introduced in 2007, is a mobile phone manufactured in South Korea by Samsung and is part of the Ultra Edition II series of Samsung phones. It is a sliding phone and the thinnest phone of its time. One of its main features are the call and select buttons, which are touch-sensitive instead of physical buttons.
The SGH-F700, marketed as the Ultra Smart F700, is a mobile phone manufactured by Samsung. Using Vodafone as its network provider, the phone was first introduced at the 3GSM World Congress that was held in February 2007. Sales to the European market started November 2007.
The LG VX10000, also known as the Verizon Voyager or LG VX10K, is an Internet-enabled multimedia phone designed by LG Electronics and carried by Verizon Wireless in the US, Telus, and Bell Mobility in Canada, and Reliance in Asia. The external screen is touch enabled with a virtual keyboard and buttons. It features an internal screen for use with the included full QWERTY keyboard. Both screens of the Voyager have WQVGA resolution. The Voyager's functions include those of a camera phone and a portable media player, in addition to text messaging, and Internet services including e-mail and web browsing. It is a dual-band mobile phone that uses the CDMA standard. It supports the EVDO data technology.
The Samsung Alias was a cell phone made by Samsung. The phone was originally available in a champagne finish then black, with the dialing keys in grey in contrast to black keys. A subsequent relaunch under the "Alias" name was accompanied by the switch to a blue/silver color scheme with the dialing keys half white and half black instead of grey and black. It features a dual-hinge design that can be opened portrait or landscape style. In landscape mode it features a QWERTY keyboard and VCAST music on the Verizon Wireless network within Australia and the USA.
The LG enV² was a Verizon Wireless digital messaging feature phone manufactured by LG. It was available in standard black as well as maroon. Both the colors were available at Verizon Wireless in the U.S., and Telus stores and Koodo stores in Canada, and were released on the same date. It was also capable of installing VZ Navigator. The original price of the phone at release was $129 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. It had dropped to $79.99, and then to $49.99, but as of February 2009, the price had returned to $129.99. Best Buy stores used to offer the enV² for a price of $49.99 with a 2-year contract. After June 2012, a data plan for the phone was optional.
Samsung SCH-U940 is a Verizon Wireless touch-screen phone made by Samsung. The Glyde was based on the popular European Croix, but was later adapted for the United States. It was released in late May 2008 in Verizon stores. As of August 2009, the phone is no longer listed for sale on Verizon's website. The phone features touch screen navigation, a 2.0-megapixel camera/camcorder with flash, customizable shortcut menus, and a full HTML browser. The phone has been replaced by a newer version, the Samsung Rogue.

The LG enV Touch, also known as the Voyager 2 or VX11000, is an internet-enabled, multimedia device created by LG Electronics for use with Verizon Wireless. The phone was released on June 5, 2009 as a successor to the LG Voyager. The phone's external screen is touch enabled with a virtual keyboard and buttons. The internal screen features a QWERTY keyboard and both screens have a WVGA resolution. The phone's functions include a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, a portable media player, text messaging, e-mail support, a web browser, a built-in accelerometer, and Verizon's GPS navigation software, VZ Navigator. It is a dual-band CDMA phone using EVDO for data communications.
The Samsung Impression is a slider-style mobile phone manufactured by Samsung Electronics. First announced on March 30, 2009, it was released on April 7, 2009. It was the first phone manufactured for the United States to have an AMOLED touch-screen.
The LG enV3 is a mobile phone built by LG Electronics, and released from Verizon Wireless in the United States and Telus Mobility in Canada. It succeeded the LG enV2. Along with a slimmer design, the enV3 also boasts a full keyboard, a 2.6-inch screen and a 3.0-megapixel camera. In addition to standard phone and text messaging capabilities, the enV3 can be used as a portable music player as well as Internet capabilities such as e-mail and web browsing. The phone is Bluetooth enabled.
The LG Versa (VX9600) is a mobile phone for use on the Verizon Wireless network. Like the LG Dare VX-9700, the Versa has a full touch screen and onscreen QWERTY keyboard. The Vers also accepts handwriting recognition or gesture control for entering phone numbers and typing. The phone includes a HTML mobile web web browser, a built-in MP3 music player, access to Verizon Wireless's VCAST multimedia services, and mobile e-mail services. The phone includes a 2.0-mp digital camera with zoom, autofocus, and flash. The phone also had a built-in camcorder. An expandable MicroSD card slot is included into the phone, though no MicroSD card is pre-installed into the device. The difference between the LG Dare and the Versa is that the Versa featured a unique, foldout QWERTY keyboard that was detachable. Originally included with the Versa, the QWERTY keyboard was no longer included and only available as an accessory at Verizon Wireless retail stores. The attachment also included send and end call keys so that the user could answer an incoming call even with the flip closed. The attachment also included an integrated LED display screen that displayed information such as the currently-playing music track, current time, current date, signal strength, type of CDMA signal that the phone was currently operating on, the network provider's name, and who is calling, should an incoming call come through when the case is attached and closed.
The Samsung SCH U960 is a CDMA touchscreen side-slider cell phone made by Samsung. The phone features a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, MP3 Player, GPS, and a 3 MP camera with Geo Tagging. It uses Verizon's EVDO Rev A data network. The Rogue runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI with a widget bar on the side. Social networking widgets including those from Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and Photobucket are widely represented on the widget bar. The Rogue also has widgets for most commonly used applications like calendar, favorite contacts and tools such as Bluetooth and settings. Like other TouchWiz phones, the user can drag widgets to the phone’s today screen and select which widgets populate the widget bar. The phone does not support downloading additional widgets.
Samsung SCH-U450 is a side-slider text messaging mobile phone. It was released September 16, 2009 to Verizon Wireless as the Intensity and on Alltel as the DoubleTake.
The Samsung Galaxy Express (GT-I8730) is a smartphone made by Samsung which was launched in March 2013 in India featuring a similar design to the Galaxy S Duos but with additional features such as 4G LTE, NFC. It also features a bigger 4.5-inch screen with Super AMOLED Plus and retains all the features which the Samsung Galaxy S III phone has.
The Samsung SCH-U460 is a side-slider text messaging mobile phone. It was released July 29, 2010 to Verizon Wireless. There is also a newer model of this phone named the Samsung Intensity 3 (SCH-U485). It is the current model of the series.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ are Android smartphones produced by Samsung Electronics as the eighth generation of the Samsung Galaxy S series. The S8 and S8+ were unveiled on 29 March 2017 and directly succeeded the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, with a North American release on 21 April 2017 and international rollout throughout April and May. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active was announced on 8 August 2017 and is exclusive to certain U.S. cellular carriers.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is a line of Android-based phablets designed, developed, produced, and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy Note series. They were unveiled on 7 August 2019, as the successors to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Details about the phablets were widely leaked in the months leading up to the phablets' announcement.
