The SGH-F700, marketed as the Ultra Smart F700, [1] is a smartphone manufactured by Samsung. Using Vodafone as its network provider, the phone was first introduced at the 3GSM World Congress that was held in February 2007. Sales to the European market started November 2007. [2]

The phone has a 3.2" color display and incorporates a touch screen/touch pad interaction system and a slide-out QWERTY key pad. The phone contains a 3.15 megapixel camera (early reports claimed a 5-megapixel sensor). Furthermore, the handset is HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0 compatible and possesses USB and microSD memory slots. [3] A Korean design patent for this black, rectangular, round-cornered phone was filed by Samsung in December 2006 prior to the release of the image of the iPhone [4] but after the release of the HTC TyTn which it resembles with its rectangular design and slide out keyboard.

The touchscreen allows the control of the entire handset. The "Croix UI" was awarded the iF Communication Design Award for 2007. [3] A Trusted Reviews article said that the Ultra Smart F700 "kicks iPhone's butt." [5]

The phone was also introduced as the Samsung U940 Glyde on Verizon Wireless in May 2008. [6]

The F700 was succeeded by the Samsung F490 in 2008. Its cheaper variant, the F480, was better known as the Samsung Tocco.

The HTC Touch Pro is a smart phone from the Touch series of Internet-enabled Windows Mobile Pocket PC smartphones designed and marketed by HTC Corporation of Taiwan. It is an enhanced version of the HTC Touch Diamond with the addition of a left-side slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a microSD card slot, and a camera flash. The Touch Pro smartphone's functions include those of a camera phone and a portable media player in addition to text messaging and multimedia messaging. It also offers Internet services including e-mail, instant messaging, web browsing, and local Wi-Fi connectivity. The LG KF900, also known as the LG Prada II, is a touchscreen, with slide out qwerty keyboard, smartphone made by LG Electronics. It is the second version of the Prada phone, following the original LG Prada (KE850). The phone's looks are basically the same as the original Prada, but the Prada II is slightly thicker, taller and heavier, to support a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. There is also a front-facing camera for use with video calling. The interface has been updated from the original. The camera has been increased from 2 to 5 megapixels with a LED photolight. The Prada II also now supports 3G and HSDPA for faster internet browsing. The Prada II has support for the Prada Link, which is bluetooth watch that allows information on incoming phone calls or text messages, the phone's alarm, or the world time clock.

The LG Versa (VX9600) is a mobile phone for use on the Verizon Wireless network. Like the LG Dare VX-9700, the Versa has a full touch screen and onscreen QWERTY keyboard. The Versa also accepts handwriting recognition or gesture control for entering phone numbers and typing. The phone includes a HTML mobile web web browser, a built-in MP3 music player, access to Verizon Wireless's VCAST multimedia services, and mobile e-mail services. The phone includes a 2.0-mp digital camera with zoom, autofocus, and flash. The phone also had a built-in camcorder. An expandable MicroSD card slot is included into the phone, though no MicroSD card is pre-installed into the device. The difference between the LG Dare and the Versa is that the Versa featured a unique, foldout QWERTY keyboard that was detachable. Originally included with the Versa, the QWERTY keyboard was no longer included and only available as an accessory at Verizon Wireless retail stores. The attachment also included send and end call keys so that the user could answer an incoming call even with the flip closed. The attachment also included an integrated LED display screen that displayed information such as the currently-playing music track, current time, current date, signal strength, type of CDMA signal that the phone was currently operating on, the network provider's name, and who is calling, should an incoming call come through when the case is attached and closed.

The Samsung SCH U960 is a CDMA touchscreen side-slider cell phone made by Samsung. The phone features a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, MP3 Player, GPS, and a 3 MP camera with Geo Tagging. It uses Verizon's EVDO Rev A data network. The Rogue runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI with a widget bar on the side. Social networking widgets including those from Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and Photobucket are widely represented on the widget bar. The Rogue also has widgets for most commonly used applications like calendar, favorite contacts and tools such as Bluetooth and settings. Like other TouchWiz phones, the user can drag widgets to the phone’s today screen and select which widgets populate the widget bar. The phone does not support downloading additional widgets.
