Samy Sana (born 10 December 1988) is a French Muay Thai kickboxer and mixed martial artist. [1] He is the former WBC Muaythai Interim Super Middleweight champion and fought in ONE Championship.
In August 2020, he was ranked the #7 lightweight in the world by Combat Press. [2]
On 16 June 2013, Samy Sana won the Wicked One Tournament in the 70 kg light middleweight division by defeating Guimba Coulibaly by knockout and Kevin Renahy by decision in one night. [3]
On 4 October 2013, for the A1 World Middleweight Championship, Sana lost to Tass Tsitsiras in Springvale, Australia, by DQ, after a knee illegally struck Tsitsiras in the throat. Tsitsiras could no longer continue. It was ruled a disqualification.[ citation needed ]
At the "Best of Siam" event held at Rajadamnern Stadium on 27 May 2016, Sana defeated Eakchanachai Kaewsamrit via third-round knockout to win the WBC Muaythai World Super Middleweight (75 kg) Championship. [4]
Samy Sana defeated Fernando Calzetta at the joint event between Oktagon and Bellator on 9 December 2017 to win the ISKA Muay Thai World Middleweight (72.5 kg) Championship.[ citation needed ]
On 17 March 2018, Samy Sana defeated both Kevin Renahy and Zakaria Laaouatni in the same night in Tours, France to win the "La Nuit Des Titans" 72.5 kg middleweight tournament. [5] [6]
Samy Sana made his ONE Championship debut on 29 June 2018 at ONE Championship: Spirit of a Warrior in Yangon, Myanmar, where he lost to Sorgraw Petchyindee by unanimous decision. [7] He then defeated Armen Petrosyan by unanimous decision at ONE Championship: Conquest of Champions in Manila on 23 November 2018. [8] Next, he lost to Jo Nattawut by unanimous decision at ONE Championship: Clash of Legends in Bangkok on 16 February 2019.
Sana was announced as one of the participants in the ONE Super Series Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix, which included Giorgio Petrosyan, Yodsanklai Fairtex, and Phetmorakot Petchyindee Academy. In the Grand Prix Quarter-Final, which took place at ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon in Kallang, Singapore on 17 May 2019, he upset Yodsanklai Fairtex in a three-round unanimous decision victory which saw him knock down Yodsanklai. [9] His win over Yodsanklai was voted the "Upset of the Year" by Combat Press. [10]
After his upset win over Yodsanklai, he was scheduled to face Dzhabar Askerov in the Grand Prix Semi-Final at ONE Championship: Dreams of Gold in Bangkok on 16 August 2019, [11] where he went on to win by majority decision in a fight that saw Sana scoring a knockdown on Askerov. [12]
He is scheduled to face Giorgio Petrosyan in the Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Final at ONE Championship: Century in Tokyo on 13 October 2019. [13] On 13 October 2019, Samy Sana lost to Giorgio Petrosyan in the Kickboxing World Grand Prix Final by unanimous decision. [14]
Following his run in the Featherweight Grand Prix, Sana was one of four French kickboxers to enter the ONE Championship rankings. [15]
He returned to action at S47S, when he fought Martin Meoni. [16] Sana won the fight by unanimous decision. [17]
Samy Sana was scheduled to fight at ONE Championship: Collision Course 2 on 25 December 2020, where faced Jamal Yusupov. Both fighters held upset victories over Yodsanklai Fairtex. [18] In a fight that saw him get knocked down in the second round, Sana lost by unanimous decision. [19]
On 3 September 2021, it was announced that Sana would be one of eight participants in the 2021 ONE Kickboxing Featherweight Grand Prix. He will face Chingiz Allazov at ONE Championship: First Strike. [20] Sana lost the fight in 39 seconds via liver punch, suffering the first knockout loss of his career. [21] [22]

Yodsanklai Fairtex a.k.a. Yod is a Thai former professional Muay Thai kickboxer. He is a former WBC Muay Thai World Super welterweight champion at 154 lbs, and a two-time Lumpinee Stadium champion in the 112 and 147 lb weight classes. He is also the first champion of The Contender Asia. He was nicknamed "The Boxing Computer" by Thai sports newspapers as a testament to his perfect fighting technique.
Gevorg "Giorgio" Petrosyan is an Armenian-born Italian kickboxer who competes in the middleweight division. He is nicknamed "The Doctor" and noted for his supreme technical skills, ringsmanship and defensive prowess which has seen him defeat some of the best strikers in the world while taking little-to-no damage. As of September 2022, he is ranked the #5 lightweight and #6 pound-for-pound kickboxer in the world by Combat Press, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest kickboxers of all time. Fabio Pinca is an Italian-French Muay Thai kickboxer and mixed martial artist. Pinca is currently signed to ONE Championship. In 2010, Pinca became the first winner of the annual Thai Fight tournament.
Ky Conrad Hollenbeck is an American Muay Thai kickboxer who competes in the middleweight division. He won national and North American titles as an amateur in his teens before turning professional in 2007 and beating Billy Evangelista for the California state belt. He soon began competing internationally and rose to prominence when he took a decision victory over Steve Moxon in the final of a four-man tournament in 2010. The following year, Hollenbeck outpointed Gregory Choplin for the WBC Muaythai Interim World Middleweight Championship and then debuted in the Glory promotion in May 2012.
Xu Yan is a Chinese Sanda, kickboxer who competes in the middleweight division. A multiple time provincial and national Sanshou titlist in his home country, Xu later made the switch to Oriental rules kickboxing and gained recognition fighting internationally in promotions such as Fight Code, K-1 and Shootboxing.
Enriko Kehl, is a German Muay Thai kickboxer who competes in the Lightweight division of GLORY, he previously competed in the Featherweight division of ONE Championship. He is the 2014 K-1 World Max Championship Tournament Champion. Kehl was voted German Kickboxer of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Petchmorakot Petchyindee, formerly known as Phetmorakot Wor Sangprapai, is a Thai retired Muay Thai kickboxer, originally from the Ubon Ratchathani province, Northeast of Thailand, but now fighting out of Bangkok. Phetmorakot's brand of Muay Thai is distinguished by his slicing elbows and devastating knees.
Superbon Singha Mawynn, also known as Superbon Banchamek, is a Thai Muay Thai kickboxer fighting out of Bangkok. He is currently signed to ONE Championship, where he is the current interim ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion. Superbon is the 2016 Kunlun Fight World Max Tournament Champion and 2018 Enfusion Live 76 8-Man Tournament Champion. Anissa Meksen is a French-Algerian professional kickboxer, Muay Thai fighter, Savateur, and boxer. She currently competes in ONE Championship. She was the ISKA World K1 Bantamweight champion, WAKO World K1 Bantamweight champion, Glory Super Bantamweight champion, WPMF World Muay Thai Flyweight champion, and former French, European, and World Savate champion.
