Sangagiri Railway Station (officially named by British Raj government as Sankari Durg railway station (SGE) [1] is a station, 3.5 kms south of Sangagiri town of Tamil Nadu, India. It is located between Mavelipalaiyam and Anangur. [2]

The Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway (DN&SR) was a cross-country railway running north–south between Didcot, Newbury and Winchester. Its promoters intended an independent route to Southampton and envisaged heavy traffic from the Midlands and North of England to the port, but they ran out of funds to complete the line to Southampton. The intended heavy through traffic never materialised, and the line was dependent on larger railways—the Great Western Railway and the London and South Western Railway—for support, which was not freely given. The line opened in two stages, in 1882 and 1885.
The Wimbledon and Sutton Railway (W&SR) was a railway company established by an Act of Parliament in 1910 to build a railway line in Surrey from Wimbledon to Sutton via Merton and Morden in the United Kingdom. The railway was promoted by local landowners hoping to increase their land's value through its housing development. It was initially planned that services on the railway would be operated by the London Underground's District Railway (DR) as an extension of its existing service from Wimbledon.
