Sanming North railway station is a railway station located in Shaxian District, Sanming, Fujian, China. The station handles both passengers and freight.

History

The station opened on 26 September 2013 with the Xiangtang–Putian railway. [1] At this time, services to the original Shaxian railway station on the Yingtan–Xiamen railway were suspended. In November 2014, work began to reroute the railway to pass through Sanming North and avoid the centre of Shaxian. This was completed in December 2017. [2] The Nanping–Longyan railway was opened on 29 December 2018 and passes through this station. It also introduced a second railway station in Sanming, Sanming railway station in Sanyuan District. [3]

It forms part of what China designates the Eurasia Continental Bridge corridor, a domestic high-speed railway corridor running from the city of Lianyungang in Jiangsu to the Kazakh border. The Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway is a standard-gauge railway in Yunnan Province of China, linking the provincial capital Kunming with the town of Hekou on the Vietnamese border. Constructed in several stages between 1989 and 2014, the Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway has largely replaced the Chinese section of the old metre-gauge Kunming–Haiphong railway for normal passenger and cargo transportation. The line is electrified, but single-tracked over most of its length.

The Coastal corridor is a high-speed rail corridor running along the eastern coast of China, stretching from Dalian in the north to Fangchenggang in the south and passing through the cities of Shenyang, Qinhuangdao, Tianjin, Dongying, Weifang, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Yancheng, Nantong, Shanghai, Ningbo. Fuzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, and Zhanjiang. The Weifang–Qingdao stretch splits into two, one directly connecting Weifang to Qingdao, the other connecting Weifang to Qingdao through Yantai. As apart of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" network, announced in 2016, this corridor is an extension of the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen passenger railway from "Four Vertical and Four Horizontal" network. The line will comprise a mixture of high-speed railway lines, upgraded conventional rail lines and intercity railways.

The Hohhot–Nanning corridor is a proposed high-speed railway in China running from Hohhot in Inner Mongolia to Nanning in Guangxi. It will pass through the cities of Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Xiangyang, Changde, Yiyang, Shaoyang, Yongzhou and Guilin. Introduced in 2016, the corridor is one of the sixteen railway lines proposed under China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" network.

The Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu high-speed railway is a high-speed rail line under construction in China. The Chinese name of the railway line, Huyurong, is a combination of the abbreviations for Shanghai, Chongqing, and Chengdu. It will run in an east-west direction largely parallel to the Yangtze River, connecting the cities of Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Wuhan, Chongqing and Chengdu.

The Jinan–Qingdao high-speed railway or Jiqing high-speed railway is a high-speed railway between Qingdao and Jinan, the two main cities of Shandong province. Qingdao and Jinan were already served by two double-track lines consisting of the high-speed Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and the conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway. The new railway is a part of the Qingdao–Yinchuan corridor, one of the 8+8 national high-speed rail gridline, and provides further relief to rail transport between Qingdao and Jinan. Planning was approved by the NDRC on June 10, 2014 with construction starting a year later. Tracklaying started in 2017 and the whole line was opened on 26 December 2018. The railway shortens travel times between Qingdao and Jinan to 1 hour. This is in contrast to the 2.5 hours needed on the Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and 4 hours on the original conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway.

The Shenzhen–Huizhou intercity railway, or Shenhui ICR, is an intercity railway being planned by the Shenzhen Metro. It is part of the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway network. This is not to be confused with the Shenzhen–Dayawan intercity railway which is a parallel line that is also under planning but will connect Shenzhen to Huiyang District in southern Huizhou. The Huizhou section is being planned and owned by Huizhou as part of its own urban rail transit network. On November 30, 2020, Heyuan's local government is proposing the line be further extended north east of Huizhou to Heyuan.

Jinhua–Jiande high-speed railway or Jinjian railway is a high-speed railway line currently under construction in Zhejiang, China. It will be operated by China Railway Shanghai Group. It will be 64.5 kilometres (40.1 mi) long and have a maximum speed of 250 kilometres per hour (160 mph). Approximately 32% of the line will be in tunnels.
