Saracen Casino Resort is a casino in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, United States. The first purpose-built casino in Arkansas is owned by the Quapaw Nation, and named for Saracen, a Quapaw chief in the 1800s. [1] [2] [3]
The first section of the casino, the 15,000-square-foot (1,400 m2) Saracen Casino Annex and Q-Store, opened in September 2019, and contains 300 slot machines. [4]
A second section, the 200,000-square-foot (19,000 m2) Saracen Casino Resort, opened across the street in 2020, and is built on a former soybean field. [2] [5] Saracen Casino Resort cost $350 million to build, employed over 1,000 construction workers, and was the largest construction project in 2020 in Arkansas. [3] [6] Saracen Casino Resort has 2,100 slot machines, 30 gaming tables, a poker room, a sportsbook, and eight restaurants, of which four are located in a food court called "The Post". [2] [3] [5] The casino will employ over 1,100 full-time staff, and artwork at the casino is designed "to pay homage to the Native American and African American cultures". [2] [3]
Saracen's 2019 license application included a 300-room hotel with restaurants, lounges, spa, conference center, museum, and cultural center. [1] [3] At the time the application was approved, the hotel was expected to have been completed in 2021, and delays led construction to begin in 2023, with completion expected in 2025. The 13-story project will be larger than initially planned, with over 300 rooms, one half to be suites. [7] [8]

Resorts World Las Vegas is a resort, mall, and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada, United States. The property is owned and operated by Genting Group and had been the site of the Stardust Resort and Casino until 2007, when Boyd Gaming demolished the resort to develop its Echelon Place project. Boyd halted construction in 2008 due to poor economic conditions and sold the property to Genting in March 2013. Genting immediately announced plans to redevelop the site as Resorts World Las Vegas, part of its Resorts World brand. The project re-used some of the partially finished Echelon buildings, including hotel and parking garage structures.
MGM Springfield is a hotel and casino complex situated in the heart of Metro Center, Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Opening on August 24, 2018 in a block of buildings that are historically or culturally influential to Springfield, it became the first resort casino in the Commonwealth. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was temporarily closed on March 14, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened to the public on July 13, 2020, after nearly 4 months of being closed, with safety precautions and reduced capacity in place. Durango is a hotel and casino under construction in Rhodes Ranch, a community in the Las Vegas Valley. It is being built along Durango Drive, beside the Las Vegas Beltway. The resort will include an 83,178 sq ft (7,727.5 m2) casino, 211 rooms in a 15-story tower, and several restaurants.
Santa Fe Valley is a cancelled hotel-casino that was planned by Santa Fe Gaming for 40 acres (16 ha) of land in Henderson, Nevada, next to the Galleria at Sunset mall. The project was announced in 1994, and construction was expected to begin in July 1996. The start of construction was delayed several times because of poor financial quarters for Santa Fe Gaming and because of the company not yet receiving financing for the project. Site preparation started in July 1998, with an opening date scheduled for December 1999, but construction never began. In 1999, the property was sold to Station Casinos, which sold the land a year later for use as a shopping center.
Saracen, also known as Sarazin, Sarasen and Sarasin, was a French-Quapaw man known during the 1800s by some European Americans as an honorary "chief". Saracen witnessed the removal of his people from traditional land in Arkansas to Indian Territory. Because of his mixed-blood, he had no hereditary right to the role of chief. But Anglo-Americans considered him a chief because of his deeds.
Dream Las Vegas is a boutique hotel and casino currently on hold on the southern Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is being developed by Shopoff Realty Investments and the real estate firm Contour. Dream Las Vegas was announced in February 2020, and construction was expected to begin within a year. However, the project was delayed after the Transportation Security Administration raised numerous safety concerns, regarding its proximity with Harry Reid International Airport.
