Beastie Boys were an American hip hop/rap rock group from New York City, formed in 1981. The group was composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. Beastie Boys were formed out of members of experimental hardcore punk band The Young Aborigines, which was formed in 1979, with Diamond on drums, Jeremy Shatan on bass guitar, John Berry on guitar, and Kate Schellenbach later joining on percussion. When Shatan left New York City in the summer of 1981, Yauch replaced him on bass and the resulting band was named Beastie Boys. Berry left shortly thereafter and was replaced by Horovitz.
Streets Is Watching is the soundtrack album to Abdul Malik Abbott's 1998 film of the same name. It was released on May 12, 1998, via Roc-A-Fella Records/Def Jam Recordings. The album fared well commercially reaching #27 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and having two singles appear on the Billboard Hot 100.

Production was handled by Mr. Rapture, DJ Clark Kent, Spencer Bellamy, Daven "Prestige" Vanderpool, DJ Premier, EZ Elpee, Jaz-O, Marley Marl, Omonte Ward and Sean Combs. It features guest appearances from Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Puff Daddy, Bam-Bue and Maverick. The album peaked at #72 on the Billboard 200 and at #19 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States.

Diddy – Dirty Money was a musical duo consisting of singer-songwriters and dancers Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper in 2009; both artists having been signed to Bad Boy Entertainment. Together with record producer, rapper and label boss Sean Combs, they performed as a collaborative act on the Bad Boy label, releasing the highly acclaimed and successful album Last Train to Paris in December 2010. The group disbanded in 2012.

Hot Sauce Committee Part Two is the eighth and final studio album by American hip hop band Beastie Boys, released on May 3, 2011, through Capitol Records. The project was originally planned to be released in two parts, with Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1 originally planned for release in 2009. The release was delayed after band member Adam "MCA" Yauch's cancer diagnosis. After a two-year delay, only one collection of tracks, Part Two, was released and the plan for a two-part album was eventually abandoned after Yauch's death on May 4, 2012.
