The Sauk Valley Predators are a Premier Basketball League team that began play in the 2012 season. Based in Northwestern Illinois, the Predators play their home games at several sites in the region, including Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois and Highland Community College in Freeport among others. The Predators team included players such as Carlton Fay (Southern Illinois University), Jereme Richmond (University of Illinois), Mike Rose (Eastern Kentucky) and Herman Favors (Georgia State). Head coach Kevin Keathley led the team to a winning season and a playoff appearance.[ when? ] Keathley was assisted by Kirk Engelkens and Ryan Vazquez. Darrick Druce was the strength and conditioning coach.

Premier Basketball League sports league

The Premier Basketball League, often abbreviated to the PBL, was an American professional men's basketball minor league that began play in January 2008. The league folded after the 2017 season, with The Basketball League as a successor league. In the past, there have been teams also in Canada and Puerto Rico. The league season operated from January to April.

Perry Moss American football player, coach, executive

Perry Lee Moss was an American football player, coach, and executive. Moss played tailback at the University of Tulsa and quarterback at Illinois during the 1940s. As a Tulsa tailback, he was on the Orange Bowl team that beat Georgia Tech, 26–12, in the 1945 Orange Bowl and later as an Illinois T-quarterback, he directed a Rose Bowl team which routed UCLA, 45–14, in 1947. Moss served two years in the United States Air Force between his playing time at Tulsa and Illinois. At Illinois, he was named to All-Big Ten Conference and All-American teams. He was drafted in 1948 by the Green Bay Packers in the 13th round and played at the professional level for one year before returning to Illinois as an assistant. He started one game at quarterback for the Packers.

Pennie Von Bergen Wessels was a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives for a single term from 1993 to 1995. She was raised in Sterling, Illinois. She attended Sauk Valley Community College and transferred to Northern Illinois University where she earned a bachelor of science in education. She later attended University of Illinois College of Law where she earned her juris doctor. She served as a member of the Whiteside County Board from 1984 until 1988 and as a director of the Citizen Utility Board. She was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 1992 from the 73rd district, which included all or parts of Bureau, Henry, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside. Her legislative priorities included education, health care, senior citizen interests, and agriculture with special emphasis on equitable education funding and health care reform.
