Scots Gap is a small village in Northumberland, United Kingdom.
Scots Gap has approximately 70 private residential dwellings, [1] the oldest dating from the mid 1800s and the latest pair being under construction in 2016. Private residences in the village are dominated by West Grange Hall and estate, covering some 35 acres across the north-east corner of the village.
The village is best known for the livestock mart which holds weekly sales of prime sheep from June to February and occasional cattle and other sales. The mart is operated by Hexham and Northern Marts Company and the facility is the largest built structure in the village. The agricultural mart is believed to have been the primary driver behind the opening of the Scots Gap railway station in the 19th century. The railway line and station closed in 1966, though the station building survives.

Cornhill railway station was an intermediate stop situated on the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNoSR) line from Cairnie Junction to Tillynaught. There was only a single platform at Cornhill that served the nearby village that lies in Fordyce Parish, of what was once Banffshire, 8 1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) from Banff itself. The line ran to Tillynaught where it split to reach Banff by a branch line or Elgin by the Moray Coast line.
West Grange Hall is an English country house and estate in the village of Scots Gap, Northumberland, built between 1863 and 1896 and originally part of the Wallington Estate.
Newton is a village in the civil parish of Bywell in Northumberland, England. It is situated close to the A69 road, 3 miles (5 km) north of Stocksfield and 13 miles (21 km) west of Newcastle upon Tyne. Bywell parish has a population of around 450 and Newton is its most populous settlement. Newton, Newton Hall and Stelling were three separate civil parishes from 1866 to 1955, when they were merged into the existing Bywell civil parish.
