Phish is an American rock band that was founded at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont in 1983. The band is known for musical improvisation, extended jams, blending of genres, and a dedicated fan base. The current line-up—guitarist and lead vocalist Trey Anastasio, bassist and vocalist Mike Gordon, drummer and vocalist Jon Fishman, and keyboardist and vocalist Page McConnell—performed together for 15 years before going on hiatus from October 7, 2000, to December 30, 2002. They resumed touring from December 31, 2002, until August 15, 2004, when they disbanded after a farewell performance at their Coventry Festival in Vermont. They reunited in March 2009 for a series of three consecutive concerts played in the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, and have since resumed performing regularly.
Ernest Joseph "Trey" Anastasio III is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and composer best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band Phish, which he co-founded in 1983. He is credited by name as composer of 152 Phish original songs, 141 of them as a solo credit, in addition to 41 credits attributed to the band as a whole.
Michael Eliot "Mike" Gordon is a bass guitar player and vocalist most recognized as a founding member of the band Phish. In addition to bass, Gordon is an accomplished banjo player, and is proficient at piano and guitar. He is also a filmmaker and author. He has released five solo studio albums.
SerialPod was formed as part of the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam in Asheville, North Carolina, which took place on December 17, 2005.[1][2] The night before, the band performed a stealth gig in Asheville at The Orange Peel. Both shows featured appearances from additional musicians including Haynes and Ivan Neville. The band played Dead and Phish classics, plus covers from Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, and others.

Haynes also is known for his associations with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead, including touring with Phil Lesh and Friends and the Dead. In addition, Haynes founded and manages Evil Teen Records.
