The Stanley Brothers were an American bluegrass duo of singer-songwriters and musicians made up of brothers Carter Stanley (1925–1966) and Ralph Stanley (1927–2016). Ralph and Carter performed as The Stanley Brothers with their band, The Clinch Mountain Boys, from 1946 to 1966. Ralph kept the band name when he continued as a solo artist after Carter's death, from 1967 until his own death in 2016.

Doyle Lawson is an American traditional bluegrass and Southern gospel musician. He is best known as a mandolin player, vocalist, producer, and leader of the 5-man group Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. Lawson was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2012.

The album features reworked instrumental versions of songs from three Phish albums: Rift, A Picture of Nectar and The Story of the Ghost. The album was successful and a sequel - Still Phishin - was released in 2002.
JamGrass: Progressive Bluegrass Jams on a Band Called Phish is a country and progressive bluegrass tribute album to the rock band Phish performed by a number of veteran Nashville session musicians, and released on March 23, 2004. The album's lead vocalist is Travis Stinson, who has performed on a number of occasions with The String Cheese Incident. The album mainly features material from the latter part of Phish's career.

Three of which Vincent wrote or co-wrote. Also included on the album are two duets. Dolly Parton sings on "Heartbreaker's Alibi", and a duet with Bobby Osborne on "Midnight Angel".
Mountain Soul II is the sixteenth studio album by American country music singer Patty Loveless. The album was released on September 29, 2009. It is a follow-up to her previous album, Mountain Soul, released in 2001. Four of the album's 15 songs, "Half Over You"; "Blue Memories"; "Feelings of Love"; and "A Handful of Dust", were previously recorded by Loveless on earlier albums. "Big Chance" was also previously included in the same form on 2005's Dreamin' My Dreams.

The Lonesome River Band is an American contemporary bluegrass band. The band has released 15 recording projects since its formation in 1982. Lonesome River Band is led by Sammy Shelor who is a member of the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame and a 5-Time International Bluegrass Music Association Banjo Player of the Year Award recipient. The band has experienced numerous personnel changes over the years, and has not included an original member since Tim Austin left the band in 1995 to focus on Doobie Shea Records.

Song Up in Her Head is the first studio album by American folk and bluegrass singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz, released on June 19, 2009 on Sugar Hill Records. It was recorded and mixed at Minutia Studios and The Mastering Lab, respectively, in Nashville, TN, by Gary Paczosa with additional engineering by Brandon Bell, John Netti, Keith Gary, Mike Judeh and Chris Dye. The song "Mansinneedof" was nominated for Best Country Instrumental Performance at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
Gerald Richard "Gerry" Hale is an English-born, Australian-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. He has worked as a session musician for the Soft Boys (1978–80) and was a band member of Bouncing Czecks before relocating to Australia in 1987. He has provided violin and mandolin for Colin Hay Band and Broderick Smith Band. Hale formed a bluegrass group, Uncle Bill, in 1996 which has had a variable line up. The group worked with Paul Kelly and together they released an album, Smoke, which peaked at No. 36 on the ARIA Albums Chart. On that album, Hale provided guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, lap steel, vocals and he co-produced it with Kelly.
