Seven Stars were an association football (soccer) club from Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
They were formed in 1995 by Rob Moore. Seven Stars was also known for its commitment to develop talent in under developed the Langa, Khayelitsha and Nyanga and used the under-developed Nyanga Stadium as a home venue. [1] In the 1997–98 National First Division season, Seven Stars were unbeaten in the 38 games under Gavin Hunt, finished as runners-up to coastal champs Engen Santos. The team scored 96 goals and conceded 16 and went through an unbeaten run of 80 games. [2] Stars merged with Cape Town Spurs and became Ajax Cape Town in 1999. [3] However, none of the club's identity, ethos, or commitment to township football was retained after the Ajax merger. It is widely regarded that the ethos of Seven Stars and a winning mentality in Cape Town football were restored by the launch of Cape Town City FC in 2016.

The team plays its home matches at Cape Town Stadium.

Nyanga is a township in the Western Cape, South Africa. Its name in Xhosa means "moon" and it is one of the oldest black townships in Cape Town. It was established as a result of the migrant labour system. In 1948 black migrants were forced to settle in Nyanga as Langa had become too small. Nyanga was one of the poorest places in Cape Town and is still is one of the most dangerous parts of Cape Town. In 2001 its unemployment rate was estimated at being approximately 56% and HIV/AIDS is a huge community issue. The township is known as the "murder capital" of South Africa.

The 1999–2000 Premier Soccer League, known as the 1999–2000 Castle Premiership for sponsorship purposes, was the fourth season of the Premier Soccer League since its establishment in 1996. The season began on 30 July 1999 and ended on 4 June 1999. Mamelodi Sundowns once again managed to secure their crown, sealing their third successive PSL title. Along with their success in the PSL's predecessor - winning three National Soccer League titles in 1988, 1990 and 1993 - this gave Mamelodi Sundowns their 6th South African championship. Sundowns tallied 75 points for the season, equalling the points record they jointly set with Kaizer Chiefs last season, but unlike the previous season in which the title was decided by goal difference, there was no close title race this season as Sundowns finished comfortably ahead of second placed Orlando Pirates with an 11-point margin.
The 2006 BC Lions season was the 49th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 53rd overall. The Lions finished in first place in the West Division for a third consecutive season with a 13–5 record and won the 94th Grey Cup over the Montreal Alouettes. Lions quarterback Dave Dickenson was named the game's Most Valuable Player after completing 18 of 29 passes for 184 yards and rushing for 53 yards on six carries. Placekicker Paul McCallum tied a Grey Cup record by kicking six field goals en route to being named the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian.
