Sandy Valley is a bedroom community of Las Vegas located in west–central Clark County, Nevada, United States. It is approximately 35 miles from the southern part of Las Vegas and west Henderson, Nevada and 20 miles from the Jean exit at Interstate 15. Sandy Valley is also located 14 miles from the historic town of Goodsprings, Nevada.
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public land-grant research university in Paradise, Nevada. The 332-acre (134 ha) campus is about 1.6 mi (2.6 km) east of the Las Vegas Strip. It was formerly part of the University of Nevada from 1957 to 1969. It includes the Shadow Lane Campus, just east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, which houses both School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine. UNLV's law school, the William S. Boyd School of Law, is the only law school in the state.
Great Basin College is a public college in Elko, Nevada. Opened in 1967 as Elko College, it was later renamed to Northern Nevada College and then to its current name. It has 3,836 students and is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Nevada State University (NSU), formerly Nevada State College, is a public college in Henderson, Nevada. It is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education and opened on September 3, 2002, as Nevada's first state college. The university is a designated Minority Serving Institute, Hispanic Serving Institution, and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Institution. Its main campus is located on a 509-acre (206 ha) site in the southern foothills of Henderson.
The Clark County School District (CCSD) is a school district that serves all of Clark County, Nevada, including the cities of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Boulder City; as well as the census-designated places of Laughlin, Blue Diamond, Logandale, Bunkerville, Goodsprings, Indian Springs, Mount Charleston, Moapa, Searchlight, and Sandy Valley. The district is divided into three regions and operates over 365 schools. The district has limited involvement with charter schools, and with the exception of providing some bus service, does not have any involvement with the private schools in the county. As of 2020, the district is the fifth largest in the United States, serving over 320,000 students.
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is a public community college in Clark County, Nevada. The college has more than 2,500 teaching and non-teaching staff and is the largest public college or university in Nevada. It is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Freedom High School is located in Orlando, Florida. It is one of twenty public high schools in Orange County. The school was established in 2003 in order to relieve crowding at nearby Cypress Creek High School; like other relief high schools, they share a rivalry. It is a rivalry dubbed as the South Orange Classic. Freedom's feeder schools are Freedom Middle School, Hunter's Creek Middle School and West Ridge Middle School in Oak Ridge. The current principal is Mr. Charles France. It has nearly identical campus layouts as Olympia High School and Timber Creek High School. Lake Brantley High School in neighboring Seminole County has similar colors and nickname.

Advanced Technologies Academy (A-TECH/ATA) is a magnet public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It focuses on integrating technology with academics for students in grades 9–12. The magnet school program was founded in 1994 and is part of the Clark County School District. The first year included only 9th and 10th grade, adding a grade each year. The first graduating class was 1997, and the first graduating class with all four years of attendance was 1998. The magnet school focuses on computer and technology related study fields.
Las Lomas High School (LLHS) is a public high school in Walnut Creek, California, United States. It was founded in 1951 by the Acalanes Union High School District, and opened its doors in the fall of 1952 to its first graduating class. Las Lomas was the second of five schools built within the Acalanes Union High School District. It is a traditional high school serving grades 9-12, and has a history of both athletic and educational excellence. The school has a strong college preparatory program as well as many extracurricular programs. The colors of the school are maroon and gold and the school mascot is the Knight. Las Lomas had 1,482 students in 2011-12. The school has a 96.4% graduation rate, and about 97% of its graduates attend college. U.S. News & World Report ranked Las Lomas #372 in the nation in 2013. It was voted a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008.
Galena High School is a public secondary school in Southwest Reno, Nevada that is a part of the Washoe County School District. The school mascot is the Grizzly Bear, and the school's colors are black and gold. Their sports teams are known as the "Galena Grizzlies".
Procter R. Hug High School is a fully accredited public high school in Reno, Nevada, and belongs to the Washoe County School District. Hug High was built on a hillside in east Reno in 1968 to serve students from rapidly growing areas.
College in the Schools (CIS) is an educational program for Minnesota high school students run by the University of Minnesota. It allows students to take college level classes in their high school and, as a result, earn college and high school credit free. The classes are taught by high school teachers who receive several weeks of additional training by the University of Minnesota. The curriculum is controlled by the University of Minnesota. More than 100 high schools in Minnesota participate in the program. Similar to programs such as Post Secondary Enrollment Options, the school district must pay for CIS programming for each student who enrolls in the program. Costs for College in the Schools are generally higher than alternative options offered by the Minnesota State System. Many schools who do not offer Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate classes offer CIS.
The Sunrise 4A Region is a part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and is one of two conferences in Southern Nevada 4A high school athletics. The Sunrise Region consists of large schools in Henderson, Nevada and on the eastern parts of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, Nevada. There are two division in the Sunrise 4A Region, Northeast and Southeast. The Sunrise 4A Region was a part of the Southern Nevada 4-A Region, until the conference was divided into two separate regions before the 2000-01 school year due to the constant expansion and development of new high schools in the Las Vegas Valley. Sunrise Mountain High School joined the Northeast Division most recently, during the 2009-10 school year.
The Southeast Career Technical Academy is a magnet public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened as the Southern Nevada Vocational Technical Center in 1966, it was the first public educational institution of its kind launched by the Clark County School District. Its name was changed before the start of the 2007-2008 school year.

Legacy High School is a high school in North Las Vegas, Nevada that opened in 2006. It is part of the Clark County School District, The school opened with an enrollment of 1,820 and currently has an enrollment of 2,980. Legacy High School describes itself as a Global Studies school, offering eight different sections of foreign language. When the school opened during the 2006-07 school year, Legacy offered Arabic as one of its world languages courses, the first high school in Nevada to do so. The program has since been discontinued.
Ridge Community High School or RCHS is a public high school located on the Davenport, Florida and Haines City, Florida Line. RCHS was established in 2005 in Polk County. Ridge Community High School is one of many schools with a separate 9th Grade campus with its own front office. The main campus holds students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade with some exceptions. Ridge Community High School sits on 76 acres (310,000 m2) of land. Ridge Community High School is zoned for Davenport and Haines City. Ridge Community High School's rivals include Haines City High School, Lake Wales High School and others in Polk County. The principal of RCHS is Angela Clark. Ridge Community High School is part of the Polk County School Board. RCHS's mascot is the Bolt, and the school motto is Once a Bolt, always a Bolt.
West Career and Technical Academy is a magnet high school located in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The school opened in August 2010 as the first magnet school in Summerlin, a community in the western Las Vegas Valley. It is administered by the Clark County School District. As of 2019, the school had an enrollment of 1,397 students and 61 classroom teachers on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 23:1. West Tech offers nine programs to prepare students for a career in the field selected.
Stephen F. Sisolak is an American businessman and politician who served as the 30th governor of Nevada from 2019 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he served on the Clark County Commission from 2009 to 2019 and on the Nevada Board of Regents from 1999 to 2008. Sisolak is the only Democrat in the 21st century to serve as or be elected Governor of Nevada.
