The Shadow ministry of Peter Malinauskas was the Labor Party opposition from April 2018 to March 2022, opposing the Marshall government of the Liberal Party in the Parliament of South Australia. It was led by Peter Malinauskas following his election as party leader and leader of the opposition on 9 April 2018 until the 2022 state election. The deputy leader of the shadow ministry during this period was Susan Close.

David James Speirs is an Australian politician. He has been a Liberal member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2014 state election and leader of the Liberal Party since 19 April 2022. He represented Bright until 2018 and then Black following a redistribution of electoral boundaries. Speirs served as the Minister for Environment and Water in the Marshall Ministry between March 2018 and March 2022.

2022 Liberal Party of Australia (South Australian Division) leadership election

The 2022 Liberal Party of Australia leadership election or 2022 South Australian Liberal Party leadership election, was the leadership contest for the vacancy of leader of the Liberal Party of South Australia and the Leader of the Opposition, following the previous months' state election loss, and resignation of then-leader Steven Marshall. The leadership contest was between three candidates: David Speirs, Josh Teague and Nick McBride. Speirs won the ballot contest by an overwhelming majority, succeeding Steven Marshall as leader and becoming the Leader of the Opposition.
