Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, formed in 1999 by lead singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel. The first lineup of the band also included guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski. This lineup released two albums, Saturate (2002) and We Are Not Alone (2004), before Hummel was replaced by Chad Szeliga in 2005. The band released two more studio albums, Phobia (2006) and Dear Agony (2009), before entering an extended hiatus in early 2010 due to Burnley's recurring illnesses.
Saturate is the debut studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin. It was released on August 27, 2002. The album features three singles, including "Polyamorous", "Skin", and "Medicate". The album was certified gold by the RIAA on September 15, 2015.
We Are Not Alone is the second studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin. It was released on June 29, 2004. Three singles were released from the album, "So Cold", "Sooner or Later", and the full-band version of "Rain", as opposed to the original version in which the only instrument used is an acoustic guitar, which came out near the end of June 2005. The album name is a reference to the novel of the same name. We Are Not Alone sold 48,000 copies on its first week and was certified platinum by the RIAA on June 13, 2005. It is the first Breaking Benjamin album to receive a Parental Advisory label.

It gained a massive amount of radio play throughout the United States and reached number one under three rock charts. The single was certified 4× Platinum in the United States on February 3, 2021, Silver in the United Kingdom on July 17, 2020, and Gold in Germany on April 3, 2023, making it their most successful single in terms of sales internationally.

A Best Buy edition, Japanese import version, and Zune exclusive version were also released, all of which feature bonus content. This is the first album to feature writing credits from members of the band other than Benjamin Burnley. It is also the final studio album to feature guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski, who were both fired from the band in 2011, as well as drummer Chad Szeliga, who left the band due to creative differences in 2013.
"I Will Not Bow" is a song by American rock band Breaking Benjamin. It was released in August 2009 as the lead single from their fourth album Dear Agony. It was featured in the ending credits of the Bruce Willis film Surrogates. The song was not written specifically for the film, but according to drummer Chad Szeliga, "Ben sent a few songs to our record label, Hollywood Records," which is owned by Disney, who then decided they "wanted a Breaking Benjamin song for this movie." The song was also being used heavily on MLB Network as lead-in and lead-out music during the 2010 MLB postseason.

Break the Spell is the third studio album by American rock band Daughtry, released on November 21, 2011, by RCA Records. It is a follow-up to their platinum selling album Leave This Town in 2009. On December 15, the album was officially certified Gold.
Dark Before Dawn is the fifth studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin, released on June 23, 2015, by Hollywood Records. It is the group's first studio album following the band's hiatus lasting from early 2010 to late 2014, and the first album to feature an entirely different lineup alongside founder and frontman Benjamin Burnley. Produced and composed by Burnley, the album took shape towards the end of the hiatus and was mostly written before the new lineup "even played a single note together." The recording process took place afterwards at both a personal studio of Burnley's and at the same studio Phobia (2006) was recorded, with all of the band members performing their respective instruments, including background vocals performed by guitarist Keith Wallen and bassist Aaron Bruch, making the record their first to feature vocals other than Burnley's.

Ember is the sixth studio album by American rock band Breaking Benjamin, produced by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Benjamin Burnley. It was released by Hollywood Records on April 13, 2018. The first single, "Red Cold River", was released on January 5, 2018. Four additional songs were released prior to the album's release, including "Feed the Wolf", "Blood", "Psycho", and "Save Yourself". A music video for "Torn in Two" was released on the same day as the album, and was released as the second single on May 29, 2018. On December 13, 2018, a music video for "Tourniquet" was released, and was released as the third single on December 18, 2018.
"Waiting on the Sky to Change" is a song by American rock band Starset. The song features contributions by American rock band Breaking Benjamin. Written by Dustin Bates (Starset) and Jasen Rauch for Bates' prior band, Downplay in 2011, the song was re-recorded in 2022 and released as a single in August 2022. As of February 2023, the Starset and Breaking Benjamin version peaked at number one on the Mediabase Active Rock chart and number two on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
