Ranaweera Mudiyanselage Shaminda Eranga (born 23 June 1986),or Shaminda Eranga,is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. He is the only bowler in history to have taken a wicket in his first over in all formats of the game. He studied at St. Mary's College in Chilaw.
On 7 August 2012,by taking Gautam Gambhir's wicket in his first over in that match,Eranga set the world record for being the only bowler to have taken a wicket in his first over in all formats of the game.[ citation needed ]
Shaminda made his One Day International debut for Sri Lanka on 16 August 2011 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium,Hambantota against Australia. [1]
He made his test debut on September 16,2011,and took a wicket with his first ball,becoming the 15th player to do so in the history of test cricket. [2]
His constant back injuries meant that he couldn't make the national team regularly after his Test debut,and his next international game came much later,in August 2012 against India,in which he made his Twenty20 International debut.
On 19 June 2016,following Sri Lanka's ODI matches in Ireland,Eranga was admitted to hospital in Dublin to undergo tests on his heart. [3] However,on the same day,he was suspended from bowling in international matches by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to an illegal action reported during the second Test against England earlier the previous month. [4] He was discharged from hospital the following day. [5] On 18 July 2017,ICC cleared Eranga bowling action,so he can play again in international cricket with his revised bowling action. [6]
During Sri Lanka Premier League tournament,he played for Nagenahira Nagas,where his team became runner-up of SLPL,lost final to Uva Next. He won Player of the series trophy for his bowling performances. [7]
Deshabandu Muttiah Muralitharan is a Sri Lankan cricket coach,former professional cricketer,businessman and a member of the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. Averaging over six wickets per Test match,Muralitharan is widely regarded as the most successful and one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the sport. He is the only bowler to take 800 Test wickets and more than 530 One Day International (ODI) wickets. As of 2022,he has taken more wickets in international cricket than any other bowler.
Deshabandu Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Gerald Joseph Chaminda Vaas is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer,who played all forms of the game,and a former ODI captain who is often described as the greatest fast medium bowler Sri Lanka has produced,due to his highly accurate lines,lengths and capability of swinging the ball. Vaas currently holds the record for the best bowling figures in ODI history,and is the only bowler to take an 8-wicket haul in ODIs.

Separamadu Lasith Malinga,nicknamed "Slinga Malinga",is a Sri Lankan former cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest limited overs bowlers of all time. Malinga captained the Sri Lankan 2014 T20 World Cup winning side and is the only bowler to take 4 wickets in 4 balls twice in international cricket. Malinga is a right-arm fast bowler that is commonly used as a specialist death bowler,and is well known for his distinctive round-arm action,sometimes referred to as a sling action,hence his aforementioned nickname. Malinga announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 14 September 2021.

Ranasinghe Arachchige Suranga Lakmal is a former professional Sri Lankan cricketer,who played in all formats of the game and is a former Test cricket captain. He is a right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman. He started his cricket life in Debarawewa National School,Tissamaharama. He was first included in the national squad for the tour of Pakistan in 2008-2009 and was reported to have been injured in the attack on the Sri Lankan team by terrorists.
Mohammad Junaid Khan is a Pakistani international cricketer who bowls left arm fast. He is the first player from Swabi to qualify for the Pakistan national cricket team. His cousin,the leg-spinner Yasir Shah,followed his path later.
The Australian cricket team toured Sri Lanka from 6 August to 20 September 2011. The tour consisted of two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is),five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Tests played for Warne–Muralitharan Trophy. Four uncapped players had been named in the Australian Test squad;Shaun Marsh,Trent Copeland,James Pattinson and Nathan Lyon. Lyon had only made four first-class appearances and was previously one of the groundstaff at the Adelaide Oval.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a Bangladeshi international cricket player who plays Tests and One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Bangladesh national team.
