Transport in Sri Lanka is based on its road network, which is centred on the country's capital Colombo. A rail network handles a portion of Sri Lanka's transport needs. There are navigable waterways, harbours and two international airports: in Katunayake, 22 miles (35 km) north of Colombo, and in Hambantota.
Galle is a major city in Sri Lanka, situated on the southwestern tip, 119 km from Colombo. Galle is the administrative capital of Southern Province, Sri Lanka and is the district capital of Galle District.
Bandaranaike International Airport, colloquially known as Katunayake Airport and Colombo International Airport, is the main international airport serving Sri Lanka. It is named after former Prime Minister SWRD Bandaranaike and is located in a suburb of Negombo, 20 miles (32.5 km) north of the commercial capital Colombo. It is administered by Airport and Aviation Services Ltd and serves as the hub of SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, and domestic carrier Cinnamon Air. The other airport serving the city of Colombo is the Ratmalana Airport, primarily serving domestic destinations.
The Southern Expressway(Sinhalese: දක්ෂිණ ලංකා අධිවේගි මාර්ගය, translit. Dakśina Laṃkā adhivēgi mārgaya; Tamil: தென்னிலங்கை அதிவேக நெடுஞ்சாலை) is Sri Lanka's first E Class highway. The 126-kilometre-long (78 mi) highway links the Sri Lankan capital Colombo with Galle and Matara, major cities in the south of the island.

Havelock City is a large mixed-use real-estate project in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Residential component of the project consists of 8 residential towers and the Commercial component of the project consists of a 46-storey office tower and a Shopping Mall built to international standards. It is popular for its clubhouse, 7-acre garden, and the overall size of the project. The first 4 residential towers, namely Park Tower and Elibank Tower, and Layards Tower and Davidson Tower, were completed as at early 2017 with 22 floors each, and is currently occupied by residents. Phase-3 is currently under construction, and will consist of the Stratford Tower and Melford Tower, with 28 floors each. Piling for Phase-4 was done with Phase-3 to expedite development. Both phases is estimated to cost over US$130 million.
The Colombo Outer Circular Expressway is a highway in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was opened in sections, with the latest one between Kaduwela and Kadawatha having been opened on 17 September 2015. The 29 km (18 mi) long outer circular road network links the Colombo - Matara Expressway with Colombo - Katunayake Expressway and the proposed Colombo - Kandy Expressway and will provide an orbital beltway to bypass the city of Colombo and reduce traffic congestion. The project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) The expressway is named "Arthur C. Clark Expressway" in honor of Arthur C. Clarke, a famous science fiction writer and futurist who lived in Sri Lanka from 1956 to his death in 2008.
Colombo International Financial City (CIFC) is a special financial zone that is expected to become an International Financial Centre. It is situated in Colombo, Sri Lanka where the former Port City was planned and is to be built on reclaimed land adjacent to the Galle Face Green. The city will use construction resources from the Colombo Harbour Expansion Project, currently under construction near the site of this proposed city.

The Lotus Tower, also referred to as Colombo Lotus Tower, is a tower of 350 m (1,150 ft), located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. When completed, the tower will be tallest self-supported structure in South Asia. It will also be the second tallest structure in South Asia after the guy-wire-supported INS Kattabomman in India. It was first proposed to be built in the suburb of Peliyagoda but later the Government of Sri Lanka decided to shift the location. The lotus-shaped tower will be used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities, with construction costing $104.3 million, funded by EXIM Bank of People's Republic of China. It is visible throughout Colombo, its suburbs and most major highways radiating from and around the city.

The Mannar line is a railway line in Sri Lanka. Branching off the northern line at Medawachchiya Junction, the line heads north-west through North Central and Northern provinces before terminating at the town of Talaimannar. The line is 106 kilometres (66 mi) long and has 11 stations. The line opened in 1914.
Kallady Bridge is a road bridge in eastern Sri Lanka. It crosses the Batticaloa Lagoon at Batticaloa. The bridge is part of the A4 Colombo-Batticaloa highway.
Colombo - Katunayake Expressway E03 is Sri Lanka's second E Class highway. The 25.8-kilometre-long (16.0 mi) highway links the Sri Lankan capital Colombo with Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake and Negombo. Construction on the highway began in October 2009, and it was opened on 27 October 2013, by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. The highway has three lanes each way from Colombo to Peliyagoda, and two lanes each way from Peliyagoda to Katunayake, with the width ranging from 26 to 33.5 metres.
Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) is an international airport serving southeast Sri Lanka. It is located in the town of Mattala, 18 km (11 mi) from Hambantota. It is the first greenfield airport and the second international airport in the country, after Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo.

The Central Expressway (E04), is a proposed road project that will link the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, with Kandy. It will essentially duplicate the route of the A1 Road.
Denagama Vitharanage Chanaka Dinushan is a Sri Lankan politician and a current member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. He was elected as the United People's Freedom Alliance candidate, representing the Hambantota Electoral District at the general parliamentary elections held in August 2015.
