Sharin Foo (born 22 November 1973) is a Danish musician and singer playing in the rock group The Raveonettes.
Foo was born in Emmelev, Djursland, Denmark, on 11 November 1973. She was raised in a hippy commune. [1]
Foo's father is musician Kim Tai Foo, [2] a second-generation Danish-Chinese [2] who played in the Danish folk-rock band Djursland Spillemænd. [3]
At an early age, Foo spent time in India studying the musical traditions of dhrupad and qawwali . [2]
When Foo returned to Denmark, she got involved in the local punk scene and met Sune Rose Wagner in Copenhagen in 2001. [2] They formed The Raveonettes and recorded their debut album, the EP Whip It On , in 2002 for the Crunchy Frog label, of Denmark.
Rolling Stone editor David Fricke's positive review of their performance at the 2002 Spot music festival held in Denmark resulted in a number of offers from major recording labels. [4] They signed with Sony Records and released their first full-length album, Chain Gang of Love , on the Columbia label, in 2003. The group, since its inception, has been touring constantly, in various line-ups around Wagner & Foo.
Foo married in 2007 musician and songwriter Greg Edwards, of the experimental rock band Autolux. [5] They have one daughter, Molly Foo Edwards, born on 13 September 2008. [6] The couple separated in February 2015 [1] and divorced in August of the same year. [5]
Foo's sister, Louise, is also a musician and singer who has been in the group Giana Factory, and the collective Ohmarymary. [7] Louise Foo toured with The Raveonettes in the summer of 2008, replacing for some dates her sister who had to avoid stage work in order to better conclude her pregnancy, on doctor's orders. [7]
In 2011, Sharin Foo acted as judge in the Danish TV talent show Danmarks største stemme ("Denmark's Greatest Voice"). [8] In 2012, along with graphic designer Camilla Hjerl who's also from Denmark, Foo opened Hurra!, an online shop and blog that "curates and sells a selection of Danish art- and design-objects", [9] which led, in 2013, to a pop-up shop in Venice, California. [10]
In 2015, she competed in the Danish version of Dancing With The Stars along with dancing partner Frederik Nonnemann. [11] Foo subsequently stated that the dancing offered her a "new body-awareness" and she has become "more brave" about her physicality. [12] The dancing couple were voted out halfway through the competition. [13]
Foo lived in Los Angeles, California for 17 years, with her daughter, but is now living in Denmark. [14]
The Raveonettes are a Danish indie rock duo, consisting of Sune Rose Wagner on guitar, instruments and vocals, and Sharin Foo on bass, guitar and vocals. Their music is characterized by close two-part vocal harmonies inspired by The Everly Brothers coupled with hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise. Their songs juxtapose the structural and chordal simplicity of 1950s and 1960s rock with intense electric instrumentation, driving beats, and often dark lyrical content, similar to another of the band's influences, The Velvet Underground.

Peter Mygind is a Danish actor and television personality. He has had roles in films including the World War II drama Flame & Citron as well as several TV series such as Borgen, Unit One, Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom, Sommerdahl and the police drama series Anna Pihl, as the roommate of the title character. Mygind hosted the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (2011) and the quiz show Boom Boom. In 2005, he participated in Vild Med Dans, the Danish production of Dancing with the Stars.
Voice – Danmarks største stemme is a Danish reality singing competition, based on the original Dutch television program The Voice of Holland. It started on November 26, 2011, and is currently airing on TV2. One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the auditioner. The show was canceled after two seasons in order to make way for a kids' version, known as Voice Junior.
Mathias Rønne Pachler is a Danish singer. He is best known for his participation in the first season of the Danish singing competition Voice – Danmarks største stemme on Danish television station TV 2, and eventually becoming runner-up in the show behind winner Kim Wagner. He was signed to Universal Records and his debut single is "Mit et og alt". In August 2012, Mathias created the band Short End with friends from high school.

Dak Laddaporn Wichangoen is a Danish chef and head-chef of the former Michelin starred restaurant Kiin Kiin in Nørrebro. She also participated as a celebrity dancer in season 14 of Vild med Dans which is broadcast on TV2, in the show she placed fourth. Wichangoen was born in Thailand were she lived until the age of seven. When moving to Denmark she has lived in the village of Djeld, there she lived with her younger brother, her mother and her stepfather. Dak has also been a guest judge of Masterchef.
