She is the only release by Maldoror, a project of Mike Patton and Masami Akita. [1]

Maldoror was formed when Patton, who had an interest in Japanese noise music, had some days off while on tour in Australia with Faith No More. He contacted Masami Akita and the two performed some improvised noise shows. They then recorded She at a recording studio in Tokyo, Japan. [2] Maldoror have performed a few additional shows in later years.

AllMusic panned the release, writing "These two notorious avant-garde noise experimentalists have joined forces [...] to produce, well, avant-garde experimental noise. For a couple of 'experimentalists', the result is disappointingly predictable." [3]

Merzbox is a box set compilation by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow. It consists of 50 CDs spanning Merzbow's career from 1979 to 1997. 30 discs are taken from long out of print releases, while 20 are composed mainly of unreleased material. The box also contains two CD-ROMs, six CD-sized round cards, six round stickers, a poster, a black long-sleeve T-shirt, a medallion, and the Merzbook, all packaged together in a "fetish" black rubber box. It is limited to 1000 numbered copies. A Merzbox Sampler was released in 1997.
