Shekinah Glory Ministry is an American gospel music group ministry from Chicago, Illinois, they started making music in 2000. The group is from Valley Kingdom Ministries International in Chicago. They have their own label imprint, Kingdom Records, that all albums are released under. They have released nine albums, with five of them appearing on various Billboard charts. Their greatest-hits collection The Best of Shekinah Glory Ministry also charted on the Billboard charts in 2009. There are six different aspects to the group from Encouragers, Exalters, Karar, Minstrels, Signs & Wonders, and Standard Bearers.

Background

The Chicago, Illinois-based gospel music group ministry, Shekinah Glory Ministry started in 2000 at Valley Kingdom Ministries International. [1] They have six different aspects to their group from Encouragers (ministers to attendees of their services), Exalters (singers), Karar (dancers), Minstrels (musicians), Signs & Wonders (sign-language interpreters), Standard Bearers (flag wavers). [2]

History

The ministry released ten albums from 2000 until 2012, with six of those charting on various Billboard charts. [3] [4] [5] The group has their own label imprint, Kingdom Records, that all albums are released under. [1] [3] The albums that charted were Praise Is What I Do in 2000, Live in 2005, Jesus in 2007, Refreshed by Fire in 2010, and Surrender in 2012. The ministry released, The Best of Shekinah Glory Ministry in 2009, that charted on various charts. [3] [5] The album, Live was rated eight out of ten by Cross Rhythms and the subsequent album, Jesus received a nine out of ten review by the publication. [4] Their album Refreshed by Fire was rated three out of five stars at AllMusic, while their Surrender release was rather three and a half out of five stars. [3] Their songs have been put on the WOW Gospel albums in 2003 and 2009.

Bishop Jason Albert Nelson is an American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician. He started his music career, in 2005, with the release of, I Shall Live, by Jaelyn Son Records. His second album, Place of Worship, was released in 2008. The first album with a major label, Shifting the Atmosphere, with Verity Records, was released in 2012, and this charted on two Billboard charts The Billboard 200 and the Top Gospel Albums. William Henry Murphy III is an American gospel recording artist and pastor. He started his music career in 2005, with the release of All Day on Epic Records. This album was listed on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. His second album, The Sound, was released in 2007 on Central South, and was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart as well. He self-released We Are One in 2011. This album was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart, along with the Heatseekers Albums chart. His fourth album, God Chaser, was released in 2013 on Verity. Maurette Brown Clark is an American gospel musician. She started her solo music career in 1998 with the release of How I Feel on Verity Records. Her subsequent three album were released by Atlanta International Records, with 2002's By His Grace, 2007's The Dream and 2011's The Sound of Victory. They all charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Clark has also been a member of Richard Smallwood's group, Vision, since its inception in 1996

Dawkins & Dawkins is an American gospel music and Christian R&B duo from Davenport, Iowa, who are currently signed to Light Records. The group consist of two brothers, Anson Dawkins and Eric Dawkins.

This will lead into the release of Darlene McCoy later on that year. This album was her breakthrough release on the Billboard magazine charts, which it placed on the Gospel Albums chart. She is the First African American Female to host a nightly syndicated radio show, as she is the host of Nightly Spirit under Reach Media Inc.

Natalie Wilson, is an American gospel musician and artist. She started her music career, in 2000, with the release of Girl Director by Interscope Records. This would be her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Gospel Albums and the R&B Albums charts. Her second album, Good Life, was released in 2003 by GospoCentric. The album would chart again on the two aforementioned charts.

Judith Jacobs Tuttle, known professionally as Judy Jacobs, is an American gospel musician. She started her music career when she attended Lee College in 1984, singing with the New Harvest singers and releasing her album in 1987 "Judy Jacobs: with New Harvest." published by Pathway Press. She has released eight more albums, since her first release, with two more labels New Day Records and Daywind Records. Two albums have charted on the Billboard magazine charts, which have exclusively come on the Gospel Albums chart.

Ashmont Hill is an American urban contemporary gospel group from Boston, Massachusetts. The group consists of four members, Deborah Bullock, Wil Bullock, April Joy Mtyora, and Phil Thompson. In 2008, the group broke through on the Billboard magazine charts with their album Ashmont Hill that was released on May 13, 2008. They released Your Masterpiece in 2010, and it charted on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. The band released The Maze in 2013, yet this did not place on any Billboard magazine charts.

Keith Anthony Staten is an American gospel musician. He started his solo music career, in 1990, with the release of, From the Heart, by Lection Records. This was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums chart. His subsequent album, No Greater Love, was released in 1995 by Glorious Music, but it failed to chart. The third album, Worship in the House, was released by Word Records in tandem with Epic Records in 1996, and this album charted on the Christian Albums chart. He released, Glory in the House, in 1995 with the aforementioned labels, however this time around it charted on the Gospel Albums chart.

Value Pac was an American Christian punk band from Orange County, California. The band started making music in 1995 and disbanded in 2001, consisting of the following members during their tenure as a band: Ryan Sheely, Sean Paul, Jason Feltman, Sean Humeston, Ben Cater, and Isaiah Coughran. The band released their first two albums, Value Pac or Down & Out (1995) and Jalapeño (1997), with Tooth & Nail Records and their final album, Incognito (2000), with Four Door Entertainment.
