Shmil is a village in the Elbasan County, eastern Albania. Following the local government reform of 2015, Shmil became a part of the municipality of Elbasan and is under the municipal unit of Labinot-Mal. [1]
Shmil (Shëmill) is attested in the Ottoman defter of 1467 as a settlement in the vilayet of Çermeniça. It had a total of 42 households represented by the following household heads: Ashtin Dislini, Petër Padisi, Gjergj Malakasi, Gjergj Këpota, Gjergj Gatoni, Gjon Mazhi, Lekë Maxi, Gjergj Kokla, Ilija Shkifata, Gjon Çifuti, Gjon Shqipfata, Lekë Padisi, Gjon Torko, Gjin Martini, Gjergj Barçi, Shogon Kargaçini, Petër Shëmilli, Gjin Barçini, Dom Progoni, Gjin Mazi, Gjergj Mazaraku (Mazreku), Vlash Mirili, Gjon Çkifaton, Gjergj Shokoni, Mekshe Lopësi, Nikolla Shëmilli, Gjergj Korvallani, Martin Ivgjeçi, Gjergj Bobokoni, Gjon Palini, Progoni Ishkurtë (i shkurt, "the short"), Bard Bosini, Gjergj Bulimiri, Nikolla Manesi, Andreja Shëmill Primiqyri, Petër Nestra, Progon Dom Shpani, Tanush Borizini, Nikolla Ishkurtë, Petër Shkifaton, Martin Berbati, and Skljafirini. Librazhd is a town and a municipality in Elbasan County, eastern Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Hotolisht, Librazhd, Lunik, Orenjë, Polis, Qendër Librazhd and Stëblevë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Librazhd. The total population is 31,892, in a total area of 793.99 km2 (306.56 sq mi). The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 6,937. Librazhd is the nearest town to the Shebenik-Jabllanice National Park.
Bulqizë is a municipality in Dibër County, northeastern Albania. The municipality consists of the administrative units of Fushë-Bulqizë, Gjoricë, Martanesh, Ostren, Shupenzë, Trebisht, Zerqan with Bulqizë constituting its seat. As of the Institute of Statistics estimate from the 2011 census, there were 8,177 people residing in Bulqizë and 32,210 in Bulqizë Municipality.
Martanesh is a geographic and ethnographic region within the Dibër County in eastern Albania. Formerly a commune, at the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Bulqizë. The population at the 2011 census was 1,836. The settlement holding the status of town is Krastë, which was also the center of the commune. The population is largely Bektashi with a rather small Catholic minority, and the commune contains the Teqe of Martanesh.
