Labinot-Mal is a village and a former municipality in the Elbasan County, central Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Elbasan. [1] The population at the 2011 census was 5,291. [2] The municipal unit consists of the villages Guri i Zi, Labinot-Mal, Serice, Lamolle, Bene, Lugaxhi, Qafe, Qerret, Shmil and Dritas. [3]
Elbasan is the fourth most populous city of the Republic of Albania and seat of Elbasan County and Elbasan Municipality. It lies to the north of the river Shkumbin between the Skanderbeg Mountains and the Myzeqe Plain in central Albania.
Elbasan District was one of the was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 counties. It had a population of 224,974 in 2001, and an area of 1,290 km2 (500 sq mi) It was in the centre of the country, and its capital was the city of Elbasan. Its territory is now part of Elbasan County: the municipalities of Elbasan, Belsh and Cërrik.
