The men's double trap competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held on 20 September. Home shooter Russell Mark set a new Olympic record in the qualification round and was close to defending his inaugural double trap title from Atlanta, but lost the gold medal shoot-off to Richard Faulds. Fehaid Al Deehani won the first Olympic medal ever for Kuwait. [1]

Kimberly Susan Rhode is an American double trap and skeet shooter. A California native, she is a six-time Olympic medal winner, including three gold medals, and six-time national champion in double trap. She is the most successful female shooter at the Olympics as the only triple Olympic Champion and the only woman to have won two Olympic gold medals for Double Trap. Manavjit Singh Sandhu is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in trap shooting. He is a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee in 2006 and Arjuna Awardee in 1998. He is a 4 time Olympian, having represented India at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. Finland competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, People's Republic of China. The athletes were named in four selections: first took place on December 19, 2007, 2nd on April 16, 3rd on May 20 and 4th on July 21, 2008.

United Arab Emirates at the 2008 Summer Olympics

The United Arab Emirates participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, which were held from 8 to 24 August 2008. The country's participation at the Beijing Olympics marked its seventh appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee consisted of eight athletes in seven sports: athletics, equestrian, judo, sailing, shooting, swimming and taekwondo. Two of the eight athletes were women, making Beijing the first time the country had sent female athletes to an Summer Olympiad, and most of their athletes qualified for the Games by using a wild card or receiving an invitation from the Tripartite Commission. The country did not win any medals at the Games; the best performance of the delegation was from sport shooter Ahmad Al-Makotum, who placed seventh in the qualification round of the men's double trap and lost a subsequent four-man shoot-out.

The men's double trap event at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place on August 12 at the Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field. Walton Eller, the gold medal winner in this event, broke two Olympic records for both the qualification and final rounds.

Glenn Eller American sports shooter

Walton Glenn Eller III is an American trap shooter and five-time U.S. Olympic athlete. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he won the gold medal in men's double trap setting both an Olympic Record and a Final Olympic Record.

Men's 50 metre rifle three positions was the last rifle event to be concluded at the 2000 Summer Olympics, on 23 September. The qualification round, consisting of 40 shots from each position, began at 09:00 Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10), and the final round of 10 additional shots standing at 13:15. World record holder Rajmond Debevec won the competition and his first Olympic medal, setting two new Olympic records.

The men's 10 metre air pistol competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held on 16 September, the day after the opening ceremony. Franck Dumoulin and Wang Yifu both reached 590 points in the qualification round of 60 shots, raising the Olympic record by three points. Although both shooters performed considerably worse in the final, their seven-point gap to the bronze medal was quite safe. Dumoulin outperformed Wang by two points, setting a new final Olympic record.

The men's trap shooting competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held on 16 and 17 September. By defending his title from Atlanta, Michael Diamond won the host country's only gold medal in the shooting competitions.

The women's double trap competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics was the second of three instances, and the only one not won by Kim Rhode, who came third. Pia Hansen raised Rhode's Olympic record by seven hits, and was only one hit from Deborah Gelisio's World records in both the qualification and final rounds. Gelisio won the silver medal, distanced by a four-hit margin.

Trap was one of the thirteen shooting events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was the last Olympic trap competition open to both men and women. The competition consisted of a qualification round of 150 targets, a semifinal of 50 targets for the top 24 competitors, and a final of 25 targets for the top six. Petr Hrdlička and Kazumi Watanabe both hit 219 of the 225 targets, with Hrdlicka winning the gold medal shoot-off. One hit behind, another shoot-off determined the bronze medalist, with Marco Venturini defeating Jörg Damme.

Fiji at the 2012 Summer Olympics

Fiji competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom from July 27 to August 12, 2012. This was the nation's thirteenth appearance at the Olympics, having appeared at every games since 1956 except the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow due to its support for the American-led boycott.

José Torres Laboy is a Puerto Rican sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's double trap at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, accumulating a score of 185 targets.

Lin Yi-chun is a Taiwanese sport shooter. She won two medals, gold and silver, in the women's double trap, at the 2001 and 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Cairo, Egypt and Lahti, Finland, respectively. She also captured a bronze medal in the women's trap at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, accumulating a score of 80 clay pigeons and a bonus of 1 target from a shoot-off.

Shooting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo are scheduled to take place from 25 July to 2 August at the Asaka Shooting Range. Unlike in 2016, the number of shooters competing across fifteen different events at these Games has been reduced from 390 to 360, with an equal distribution between men and women. Furthermore, several significant changes were instituted in the Olympic shooting program, including the substitution of three male-only events, with the mixed team competitions. All dates referenced will be rescheduled due to postponement of Olympics until 2021.

Angola at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Angola competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's ninth consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics, with the exception of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, because of its participation in the Soviet boycott.

Mashfi Al-Mutairi is a Kuwaiti sport shooter. He won a bronze medal in double trap shooting at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, and was eventually selected to compete for the Kuwaiti team in two editions of the Olympic Games. Al-Mutairi is a member of the Kuwait City Shooting Club, where he trains full-time under Italian-born coach and 1996 Olympian Mirco Cenci.

Algeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics

Algeria is expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games have been postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's debut in 1964, Algerian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, because of the African boycott.
