Comical situation which finds the Jaya (Supriya) having to marry a complete stranger according to her father's will. The stranger she is to be married is a funny boy whom she is at cross ends with. The story goes on with this baseline, that they agree to stay married for a year and the comedy rolls on there forth. There are many quarrels, misunderstandings and childlike fights, which all add to the comical content of the movie. All characters add life to the story with hilarious punch-lines and comical episodes. And in the end the two main leads falling in love with each other and living happily ever after.

His career spanned three decades, from the late 1940s until his death in 1980. Supriya Devi was an Indian actress who is known for her work in Bengali cinema for more than 50 years. She is best known for her portrayal of Neeta in Ritwik Ghatak's Bengali film Megha Dhaka Tara (1960). She was conferred the Filmfare Award and the BFJA Award twice. In 2011, she received the Banga-Vibhushan, the highest civilian honour in West Bengal. In 2014, she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India, the fourth highest civilian award in India, for her contributions to the entertainment industry.

In the 1990s, a television series Manush, based on the same plot, aired. This film became successful at the box office.
Dhanraj Tamang is a 1978 Indian Bengali language vigilante action film co-written and directed by Pijush Bose based on the story of Charuchandra Chakraborty alias Jorasandha. The film was released under the banner of Usha Films starring Uttam Kumar, Sandha Roy, Utpal Dutta, Anil Chatterjee, Dilip Roy and Chaya Devi in lead roles. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Shyamal Mitra, with lyrics penned by Gauriprasanna Mazumder. Plotted in Sittong tea estate, Darjeeling, it revolves around Dhanraj Tamang, a tea estate worker who always fights against the predators who try to rape the women instead of job in the estate. All on a sudden, he gets prisoned for being falsely accused of raping his wife, Phoolmaya. He escapes from the jail to look into the matter and unfortunately discovers his boss to be the mastermind of all the rapes, including of his wife. After taking the revenge, Dhanraj becomes mad and dies in the Ranchi mental asylum.

Set in British India, it revolves around a freedom fighter as well as revolutionary Dr. Sabyasachi Mallick, arresting whom is very difficult for the police as he always escape through his presence of mind and jaw dropping disguises. When he comes to Burma to continue his foundation Pather Dabi against the British raj and the Burma police service hires DCP Nimai Roy from India to bring him down.
