Reddy, was a film writer and film producer. He produced immensely successful films like Ammoru and Arundhati .

The film won two Nandi Awards and was premiered in the Indian panorama section at the International Film Festival of India. The movie was remade in Kannada as Lift Kodla (2010). The core plot of the movie was reportedly inspired from the 1998 Japanese film Ikinai.

Ammoru (transl. Goddess) is a 1995 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological fantasy film directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The film is produced by Shyam Prasad Reddy, under M. S. Arts Unit. It stars Ramya Krishna in the titular role and Soundarya, Suresh, Rami Reddy, Baby Sunaina, Vadivukkarasi, Kallu Chidambaram, and Babu Mohan in supporting roles. In the film, goddess Ammoru descents to Earth and protects her devotee Bhavani from evil forces.
