Early life

From Georgia, he attended Westlake High School in Atlanta. [2]

Career

In 2023 he ran the fastest 400m time ever recorded by a high school athlete in Georgia, running 45.46, lowering the record of 45.78 that Will Sumner had set the previous year. [3]

He won the men's 400 meters in a time of 45.62 seconds at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field, Eugene, Oregon in June 2024. [4]

He qualified for the final of the 400 metres at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru. [5] In the final he came away with the bronze medal, running 46.29 seconds. [6] He then won gold running the anchor leg for the American 4 x 400 metres relay team. [7]

His mother Alicia is a former track runner. [8]

Muhammad was second at both the 2013 and 2017 World Championships to take her first gold in 2019, setting the former world record of 52.16 s. She was the second female 400 m hurdler in history, after Sally Gunnell, to have won the Olympic, World titles and broken the world record. At both the 2019 World Championships and Tokyo Games, she also took gold as part of women's 4 × 400 metres relay team.
