Quincy Downing (born 16 January 1993) is an American sprinter, hurdler, and 800 metres runner. He was a part of the gold medal-winning 4 × 400 metres relay team at the 2012 World U20 Championships.
Downing grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended Glenville High School. His brothers are prominent NBA athlete and coach Jannero Pargo and NBA G League player Jeremy Pargo. Downing is also related to NBA player Dwayne Washington and New York Yankees player Al Downing. [2]
As a prep, Downing was considered more of a middle-distance runner with a high school personal best of 1:51.99 in the 800 metres. He was a USATF youth champion in that event, and he competed at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics in the 800 m but did not make the finals. [2]
In college as a member of the LSU Tigers track and field team, Downing began to focus more on the 400 m and 400 m hurdles while still occasionally competing in the 800 m. [2] In 2012, Downing won his first global gold medal at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the 4 × 400 m. [3] Downing went on to win three NCAA 4 × 400 m relay national championship titles representing LSU, at the 2014 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and at the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He is a 3 time NCAA champion in the 400m hurdles and was the second freshman from Washington State University to ever win the NCAA title. In 2008 Anderson was 400 meter hurdles Junior World Champion and holds the second fastest high school time recorded in the 300m hurdles. He was born and raised in Woodland Hills, California and attended Taft High School. After winning the 2011 Outdoor Championships, Anderson had the competed for team USA at the world championships. He also participated in the 2016 Olympic trials in which he finished as a finalist.

The NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships are the annual collegiate track and field competitions for women athletes representing Division I institutions organised by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Athletes' performances in individual championships earn points for their institutions and the team with the most points receives the NCAA team title in track and field. A separate NCAA Division I men's competition is also held. These two events are separate from the NCAA Division I Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships and NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships held during the winter. Dalilah Muhammad is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 meters hurdles. She is the 2016 Rio Olympics champion and 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist, becoming at the latter the then-second-fastest woman of all time in the event with her personal best of 51.58 seconds. Muhammad was second at both the 2013 and 2017 World Championships to take her first gold in 2019, setting the former world record of 52.16 s. She was the second female 400 m hurdler in history, after Sally Gunnell, to have won the Olympic, World titles and broken the world record. At both the 2019 World Championships and Tokyo Games, she also took gold as part of women's 4 × 400 metres relay team.
Brandon Johnson is an American former professional middle-distance runner, who specialized in the 800 metres and previously the 400 meter hurdles until 2012.
Chanelle Price is an American middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run. She has a personal record of 1:58.73 for the distance. She was the gold medalist at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2014.
Janieve Russell is a Jamaican track and field athlete who competes mainly in the 400 metres hurdles and the 400 metres sprint. She won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 × 400 m relay in Tokyo 2021, where she also finished fourth in the 400m hurdles final in a personal best of 53.08 secs. Quentin Jarrod Iglehart-Summers is an American former track and field sprinter, who specialized in the 400-meter dash. He set a personal record of 45.46 seconds for the event in 2008. He was a gold medalist in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2012. He also won a relay gold medal at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics. At collegiate level he was a four-time national champion in the relay with the Baylor Bears.
