Simeulue Tengah (Central Simeulue) is a district of the Simeulue Regency on Simeulue island in the Indonesian province of Aceh. At the 2010 Census it had a total population of 9,010 people, [1] living in 1,930 households in 2005. [2] Following the splitting off of eight villages (kampong) to form a separate Simeulue Cut district in 2012, the reduced Simeulue Tengah District covers 112.48 km2 and had a population of 7,647 in mid 2023. [3]

Administrative divisions

As at 2010, Simeulue Tengah was divided administratively into 24 kampong. However in 2012 eight of these were removed from the regency to form a new district (kecamatan) of Simeulue Cut. The remaining sixteen kampong are:

The new Central Sumba Regency was established on the island of Sumba when West Sumba Regency was split into two regencies on 22 May 2007 and a further Regency was created in Central Sumba from parts of both West Sumba and East Sumba Regencies. The new Regency covers 2,060.54 km2 and had a population of 62,485 at the 2010 Census and 85,482 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 90,482. The seat (capital) of its government is located at Waibakul.

On 20 April 1999, two areas were separated from the original regency - the southeastern portion was split off to form a separate East Lampung Regency, while the town of Metro was created as an independent city. The reduced regency has an area of 4,545.50 km2 and had a population of 1,170,048 people at the 2010 census and 1,460,045 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 1,500,002. Salang is a district of the Simeulue Regency on Simeulue island in the Indonesian province of Aceh. At the 2010 Census it had a total population of 7,625 people, which by mid 2023 had increased to 9,222.

Simeulue Timur is a district of the Simeulue Regency on Simeulue island in the Indonesian province of Aceh. At the 2010 census, it had a total population of 28,931 people, living in 4,334 households in 2005. In 2020, after being reduced in 2012, it covered 175.97 km2 and had a population of 27,569 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 28,830.

Teluk Dalam is a district of the Simeulue Regency on Simeulue island in the Indonesian province of Aceh. At the 2010 Census it had a total population of 5,091 people, which by mid 2023 had increased to 5,709.

Teupah Selatan is a district (Kecamatan) of the Simeulue Regency on Simeulue island in the Indonesian province of Aceh. As of 2020 it had a total population of 9,030 people. while the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 9,444.
