Slow Motion Apocalypse is the second studio album by Grotus, released on April 20, 1993, by Alternative Tentacles. [1] Boasting eastern music influences and a more mature sound, the album is considered by some to be the highlight of their career, despite Allmusic considering Brown their best album pick. The album also leans towards a more metal sound, unlike the first and last releases. [2]

Von Dahl Killed the Locals in 2003, then signed to Epitaph Records who re-released it the following year. Decomposer followed in 2006, seeing the band move from their pop punk roots in a more idiosyncratic direction with contributions from nine different record producers; it reached no. 18 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. Other than an Erasure remix in 1995, the band would not reform until 1999, and not release any new material until 2002's Read & Burn 01 and Read & Burn 02 EPs and 2003's subsequent Send album.
