The original US program was developed by executive producer Fran Duffy [2] and aired as part of Nightflight on a fortnightly basis. The first two seasons were produced in the UK by Pete Fowler and Brenda Kelly. [1] A third season was produced in the US by Duffy with help from Giorgio Gomelsky.
In 1989-1991 a UK version, produced by Fowler and Kelly, aired for three seasons on the BBC, [1] and was syndicated to the pan-European TV channel Super Channel and in other countries in Europe, such as Russia, Portugal, Denmark and Greece.[ citation needed ]
Snub's early focus on emphasis on the indie and underground music scene in the UK was very much informed by Kelly's position as editor of The Catalogue, house magazine of The Cartel record distribution group, plus Fowler's work producing videos for bands. As the BBC show developed the program covered the rise of Madchester documenting such as The Stone Roses. [3] The British series also featured other acts such as comedians.
Snub TV has been credited with giving many bands and musical acts initial or early television exposure vital to their careers. [4] [5]
In 2017 Fowler stated that plans to release a complete archive had been shelved due to lack of funds. [1]
The Cult are an English rock band formed in Bradford in 1983. Before settling on their current name in January 1984, the band had performed under the name Death Cult, which was an evolution of the name of lead vocalist Ian Astbury's previous band Southern Death Cult. It originally aired from 1981 to 1988 before moving to syndication in the early 1990s. The show relaunched online on nightflight.com in 2015 with original episodes that can be streamed on the subscription channel Night Flight Plus. In April 2018, it returned to cable television as a short form (15-minute) program airing late Friday nights/early Saturday mornings on the network IFC. It includes a mix of mainstream and alternative music videos, artist interviews, B movies, documentaries, short films, stand-up comedy and animation.

Rockferry is the debut studio album by the Welsh singer Duffy, released on 3 March 2008 in the United Kingdom by A&M Records. It was released in the United States by Mercury Records. Taking four years to record the album, Duffy worked with several producers and writers including Bernard Butler, Steve Booker, Jimmy Hogarth, and Eg White. Primarily a soul recording musically, Rockferry is composed of ballads, torch songs, and up tempo songs in the style of 1960s pop music. It was well received by music critics, who praised the record's musical and lyrical depth and occasional darkness, Duffy's vocal performance, and the record's contemporary instrumentation and production which created a warm sound. Music critics favourably compared Duffy's work on Rockferry to the music of Dusty Springfield and Duffy's contemporary Amy Winehouse.
