Some Kind of Zombie is the fourth studio album released by Audio Adrenaline.
According to Audio Adrenaline, the album concept and its title song are based on the Scripture, specifically Colossians, Chapter 3, where it talks about "giving life over to God". The inspiration came from singer Mark Stuart's experience living with his missionary parents in Haiti, where voodoo is heavily practiced. According to Stuart, the message is that "you can be dead to your old self after becoming a new person through religion." [1]
Some Kind of Zombie was recorded in 1997 at Ardent Recordings in Memphis and Shakin' Studios in Franklin. Recording was produced by John Hampton. Jason Latshaw and Matt Martone assisted as engineers. The LP was mixed by Skidd Mills. The album included a remix of the title song called "Some Kind of Zombie (Criscoteque Remix)", which was remixed by Scott Humphrey. This track is not available on the audiocassette release of the album. [2] A "Chevette (Remix)" can be found on the compilation album WOW 1999 .
The album is the first Audio Adrenaline album to feature guitarist Tyler Burkum. It is also the first album to officially list Ben Cissell as the band's drummer. Additionally, the song "Blitz" features members of Christian ska band The O.C. Supertones, including Matt Morginsky as a guest vocalist.

Some Kind of Zombie was well received by critics. John DiBiase, of Jesus Freak Hideout, gave the album 3.5 stars out of 5, calling it a "fantastic record and a must-listen for any Audio Adrenaline or modern rock fan." [5] AllMusic's Stephen Thomas Erlewine gave the album 4 out of 5 stars writing that "the group improves with each record, delivering tougher, catchier riffs and sharper performances". [6]

The Orange County Supertones were a Christian ska band from Orange County, California. The band was signed to Tooth & Nail Records and its imprint, BEC Recordings, before becoming an independent band. The band temporarily disbanded in 2005, reunited in 2010 to resume touring and recording, and permanently disbanding in 2017. The OC Supertones were one of the first widely successful Christian ska bands.
Adventures of the O.C. Supertones is the first album released by The O.C. Supertones. Its lyrical content is mostly simple and spiritual, similar to worship music. Cornerstone reviewer Don Hill stated that its simplicity was similar to that of the song "Father Abraham", designed to "draw you out of yourself and into the presence of God like a small child." Some exceptions are "Blood Washed Pilgrim" which contains direct theology, and "Found" which references Saul's conversion to explain the purpose of the band. In the words of the band this is "Preach the Gospel, reach your heart, and ska, ska, ska, ska!" "OC Supertones" continues the explanations, stating their stance on the church and some of the band's background. Musically the album contains simple guitar supported by horns, with splashes of reggae, alternative rock, and rap. The latter elements would become more prevalent later in the band's later releases. The album's first track, in its intro, features a distinct similarity to Metallica's version of the Diamond Head (band) track Am I Evil? released on their 1980 debut album Lightning to the Nations
Supertones Strike Back is the second studio album released by the O.C. Supertones. One reviewer described the album as a "no-hold-barred modern day revival meeting".
Chase the Sun is the third album released by The O.C. Supertones. This is the only album to include Brian Johnson, whose spot was filled by Ethan Luck.
Audio Adrenaline was an American Christian rock band that formed in 1986 at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky. The band gained recognition during the 1990s and received two Grammy Awards and multiple Dove Awards. Audio Adrenaline were regular performers at the annual Creation Festival, Spirit West Coast festival, Agape Music Festival, and Alive Festival. In 2007, the group disbanded due to lead singer Mark Stuart's spasmodic dysphonia. During this time, they released eight studio albums.

Invincible is the third studio album by American Christian rock band Skillet. It was released on February 1, 2000 on ForeFront Records and Ardent Records. This album continues the electronic and industrial rock that was heard on Hey You, I Love Your Soul (1998), however, this album's industrial sound is more modernized than on Hey You, I Love Your Soul. Kevin Haaland replaced original guitarist Ken Steorts, although Steorts performed additional guitar on the album. Korey Cooper, John Cooper's wife, was the keyboardist and backing vocalist on the album and also did loops, programming, and sampling.
Ardent Worship is the first live album by American Christian rock band Skillet. It was released in 2000 by Ardent Records seven months after Invincible. It is a worship album consisting of both live and studio recordings of six songs written by Skillet and four songs covering other artists. Original Skillet members Ken Steorts and Trey McClurkin appear on "Safe With You" and "Shout To The Lord" to finish the live set with fellow founding member John Cooper. This is the only Skillet album with no music videos and the first album with Lori Peters on drums, who replaced Trey McClurkin. Two songs come from previous Skillet albums, "Safe With You" being from their self-titled album and "Angels Fall Down" being the hidden track on Invincible.
Hey You, I Love Your Soul is the second studio album by American Christian rock band Skillet. It was released on April 21, 1998 as an enhanced CD on ForeFront Records and Ardent Records. Hey You, I Love Soul introduces the industrial rock sound that carries onto Alien Youth, with songs like the title track "Hey You, I Love Your Soul" and "Take".
Live from Hawaii: The Farewell Concert is the second and final live album from the Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline. The concert was recorded during the band's final presentation on April 28, 2007 at Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was released on August 28, 2007 by ForeFront Records.
Kings & Queens is the ninth studio album by Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline, the only Audio Adrenaline album with Kevin Max as the lead singer and the last album with bassist and founding member Will McGinniss. The album was released on March 12, 2013, and was the first album after their comeback and with the Fair Trade Services label. Kings & Queens garnered critical acclaim from music critics, and has seen chart successes.
Underdog is the fifth full-length album released by Audio Adrenaline. The album's lyrics are a slight departure from Some Kind of Zombie, as they focus more on missions and the word of God being spread, as shown in "Hands and Feet" and "Jesus Movement"; a theme that would reappear in Worldwide. Other songs, such as "Get Down" and "Good Life", reflect on God's influence in a Christian life.
