Sorkhab (Persian : سرخاب‎, also Romanized as Sorkhāb; also known as Sūrkhāb)^[1] is a village in Mehraban-e Olya Rural District, Shirin Su District, Kabudarahang County, Hamadan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 555, in 103 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Mehraban-e Olya Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Shirin Su District, Kabudarahang County, Hamadan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 10,413, in 2,216 families. The rural district has 10 villages.

Shirin Su District is a district (bakhsh) in Kabudarahang County, Hamadan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 23,015, in 4,940 families. The District has one city: Shirin Su. The District has two rural districts (dehestan): Ali Sadr Rural District, Mehraban-e Olya Rural District and Shirin Su Rural District.
