South Beaver Elementary School was an elementary school in Flagstaff, Arizona. The school was a part of Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) up until its closure in 2010. However, the school was leased, and later purchased, by Northern Arizona University (NAU) and is now used for the intensive English program for non-native English speakers.
Created in May 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), South Beaver Elementary was a segregated school for Hispanic students, and later African-American students after the closure of Dunbar School, and remained segregated up until the 1950s. The school was primarily dominated by said ethnic groups until its closure.
South Beaver has had close relations with NAU since the 1940s with NAU students helping to teach and tutor at South Beaver to NAU donating 18 Macintosh SE computers to the school in 1995. In 1946, the school participated in a school safety patrol with the 20–30 Club in order to bring awareness to general student safety as students get to and from school.
South Beaver was the oldest and smallest school building FUSD owned and was the first magnet school the district offered.
Before the Kinlani Dormitory (now the Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory), a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIE)-contracting dormitory, stopped taking younger students, it sent younger children living there to South Beaver Elementary. [1]

The NAU Lumberjacks are the varsity athletic teams representing Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in intercollegiate athletics. The school's mascot was adopted in 1946. The Lumberjacks compete in NCAA Division I and are full members of the Big Sky Conference with the exception of the women's swimming and diving team which is an affiliate member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks men's basketball team represents Northern Arizona University, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, in NCAA Division I men's competition. The school's team has competed in the Big Sky Conference since 1970. The team's most recent appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was in 2000. Northern Arizona also appeared in the NCAA tournament in 1998. In 2023, the Lumberjacks have reached the Big Sky conference tournament title game as a Cinderella team as they were the 9th seed in the tournament. The Lumberjacks are currently led by head coach Shane Burcar who replaced Jack Murphy in June 2019. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and is a member of the Big Sky Conference. The school's first football team was fielded in 1915. The team plays its home games at the 10,500 seat Walkup Skydome. Brian Wright was hired as the Head Football Coach on December 3, 2023.
Flagstaff High School (FHS) is a secondary school in Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff High School has been opened to the public since 1923. FHS is a four-year public high school of approximately 1,500 students. The students are primarily of five ethnic groups: White, Native American, Hispanic, Asian, and African-American. Approximately 50 percent of the students are minorities; 147 are from various Native American tribes and live at the Bureau of Indian Affairs KinLani Dormitory. The student body represents a broad socio-economic range from low income to upper middle class. Each year approximately 50 percent of the graduates enroll in four-year colleges and universities and 25 percent in two-year institutions.
KLJX-LP is a student-run college radio station serving the Northern Arizona University campus in Flagstaff, Arizona, United States. The station broadcasts a variety of music in a freeform format, as well as campus and high school sports coverage. The station operates out of the NAU School of Communication on the school's Flagstaff campus.
The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks women's basketball team represents Northern Arizona University, located in Flagstaff, Arizona, in NCAA Division I women's competition. The school's team competes in the Big Sky Conference. Loree Payne, formerly the head coach at the University of Puget Sound, was named the head coach of the lumberjacks in April 2017. The women's basketball team reached the conference tournament championship in 2023. The Lumberjacks play home games at the Findlay Toyota Court.

They are a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association at the Division II, West Coast Hockey Conference and Division III, Independent. The university sponsored NCAA Division I ice hockey from 1981 to 1986.
