Larry J. Sanders, known professionally as L.V., is an American singer. He is best known for his collaboration with rapper Coolio on the single "Gangsta's Paradise". He has released five solo albums and was a member of the gangsta rap group South Central Cartel since it formed, usually singing the choruses. In 2019, L.V. was featured by NBC News after the Los Angeles Police Department designated him as a gang member or associate for the purposes of a heavily criticized database.

Recording sessions took place at Kitchen Sync Studio in Hollywood, California with producers Prodeje and Havikk the Rhime Son, co-producers DJ Gripp, L.V. and DJ Kaos, and executive producer Cary "Havoc" Calvin. The album features guest performances by 2Pac, Mr. 3-2, Big Mike, Ice-T, MC Eiht and Spice 1, and also introduced a new member to the group, Patrick "Young Prodeje" Pitts.

Recording sessions took place at Echo Sound and Kitchen Sync Studio in Los Angeles between Autumn 1996 and Spring 1997. Production was handled by members Prodeje and Havikk The Rhime Son, Sean T and The Real Richie Rich, with additional producers Tomie Mundy and Robert "Fonksta" Bacon. The album peaked at number 178 on the Billboard 200 and number 35 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States.

Records and distributed by Def Jam Recordings. The album features production by Ant Banks, DJ Gripp, G$ Money and Prodeje. It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, at number 1 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers and at number 106 on the Billboard 200. The album features performances by Spice 1, Ant Banks, Ice-T, Treach, 187 Fac, Mr. Wesside, Hot Dolla and Big Mike.

Brandi Younger, professionally known by her stage name Gripsta, is an Oakland-born female rapper. Discovered by Ice-T at the age of 13, she was featured on song titled "Funky Gripsta" off of his 1993 album Home Invasion and later signed to Tuff Break/A&M Records in the 1990s. Her debut single "Pop Goz the 9" was partially leaked in January 1994, its music video was directed by Ice-T. However Gripsta's debut single was never officially released. The Tuff Break label on A&M Records was dropped before her scheduled release date. She was later featured on Ice-T's seventh solo studio album The Seventh Deadly Sin, as well as numerous features on record label Def Jam's The Murder Squad album.
