Sowghanlu (Persian : سوغان لو‎, also Romanized as Sowghānlū and Sooghanloo; also known as Sagālū, Sogānlū, and Soghānlū)^[1] is a village in Piran Rural District, in the Central District of Piranshahr County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 598, in 89 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Piran Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Piranshahr County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. In the 2006 census, its population was 12,599, in 2,257 families. The rural district has 30 villages.
