Manuel "Manolo" Martínez Gutiérrez is a retired Spanish shot putter. Nicknamed the "Gentle Giant", his personal best throw outdoors is 21.47 metres and he has an indoor best of 21.26 m. These marks are the Spanish national records for the event. His international career lasted from 1992 to 2011 and he earned national selection on 84 occasions – the most by any Spanish athlete.
The 2004 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics was the eleventh edition of the international athletics competition between Ibero-American nations which was held at the Estadio Iberoamericano in Huelva, Spain on 6–8 August 2004. A record high of 27 nations took part while the number of participating athletes (430) was the second highest in the competition's history after the 1992 edition. The programme featured 44 track and field events, 22 each for men and women, and 16 championship records were broken or equalled at the three-day competition.

2018 World Masters Athletics Championships is the 23rd in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships that took place along the Costa del Sol in Málaga and Torremolinos, Spain from 4 to 16 September 2018. This was the second even year of this biennial series as beginning in 2016 at Perth, Australia, the Championships moved to be held in even-numbered years to avoid conflict with the quadrennial World Masters Games, which had been held in odd-numbered years since 2005.
