Splendour in the Grass 2019 was the nineteenth edition of the annual Australian music festival Splendour in the Grass. [1] It was held on 19 to 21 July, 2019 at North Byron Parklands, Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The festival was headlined by Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala, American musician Childish Gambino and Australian hip hop group Hilltop Hoods. [2]

Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project of Australian multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. In the recording studio, Parker writes, records, performs, and produces all of the project's music. As a touring act, Tame Impala consists of Parker, Dominic Simper, Jay Watson, Cam Avery, and Julien Barbagallo. The group has a close affiliation with fellow Australian psychedelic rock band Pond, sharing members and collaborators, including Nick Allbrook, formerly a live member of Tame Impala. Originally signed to Modular Recordings, Tame Impala is now signed to Interscope Records in the United States and Fiction Records in the UK.

The New Moon Rising World Tour, also referred to as the Cosmic Egg Tour, was a concert tour by Australian rock band Wolfmother. The tour began on 17 September 2009 with a seven-show leg in Australia, followed by a short European tour in October, a North American leg comprising 24 shows and initially called for a second European leg in 2010. This was followed by an eleven show run in Australia, supporting AC/DC. The band then returned to North America, playing Lollapalooza and various other venues, including two shows in Mexico, and toured Asia and Australia in fall 2010. In early 2011, the band played the Big Day Out festivals in Australia and New Zealand. The tour then culminated after a round of festival and headlining dates in Europe over the summer, and went the studio to commence work on a third studio album. The tour was in support of the band's second album Cosmic Egg, and was the first to be completed by the four-piece lineup of the band formed in January 2009 after the original trio's breakup in August 2008.

The song was officially released on June 9, 2014 as the third official single from the album. It was produced by Gambino himself and Ludwig Göransson, and features ad-libs from rapper Problem. The song peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. It has had multiple live performances, including during the Childish Gambino This is America Tour. It also features a music video released on YouTube with over 160 million views since its release. Catfish and the Bottlemen are a British indie rock band formed in Llandudno, Conwy, Wales, in 2007. The band's debut album, The Balcony, reached number 10 in the UK Albums Chart and achieved Platinum status on 30 December 2016. The band have toured in South America, Japan, UK, Europe, North America, and Australia performing a wide selection of festivals including Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Latitude, Falls Festival, Community Festival, Reading and Leeds, T in the Park, Governors Ball, All Points East, Bonnaroo, Splendour in the Grass, and TRNSMT. "This Is America" is a song by American rapper Childish Gambino. Written and produced by Gambino and Ludwig Göransson, with additional writing credits going to American rapper Young Thug, it was released on May 6, 2018 at the same time that Gambino was hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live. The song features background vocals from Young Thug alongside fellow American rappers Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, BlocBoy JB, Quavo of Migos, and Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage. The lyrics and accompanying music video, reflecting the core of the Black Lives Matter movement, confront issues of ongoing systemic racism, including prejudice, racial violence, the ghetto, and law enforcement in the United States, as well as the wider issues of mass shootings and gun violence in the United States. Originally, Gambino intended it to be a diss record towards fellow rapper Drake.

The This Is America Tour was the fifth concert tour by American recording artist Childish Gambino. The tour began in the summer of 2018, playing over 20 shows in North America and Europe.

The Roskilde Festival 2019 was held on 29 June to 6 July 2019 in Roskilde, Denmark. The headliners included Bob Dylan, Travis Scott, Robyn, and The Cure.

The Primavera Sound 2019 was held on 30 May to 1 June 2019 at the Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona, Spain. The festival was preceded by the event, Primavera a la Ciutat, which was located in the downtown Barcelona, featuring many performances including Big Red Machine, Deerhunter and Apparat.

The 2019 Bonnaroo Music Festival, the eighteenth consecutive edition of the festival, was held June 13 to 16, 2019, at the Great Stage Park Manchester, Tennessee. The tickets were sold out and it was projected that 80,000 people attended the festival across the weekend. The festival was headlined by two sets by Phish, Childish Gambino, Post Malone, Odesza, and The Lumineers.

The Primavera Sound 2022 music festival was held on 2 June to 12 June 2022 at Parc del Fòrum, in Barcelona and Sant Adrià del Besòs, Spain. After a two year hiatus due to social distancing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival returned in 2022 in a new two-weekend format, doubling the capacity of years before. In between weekends Primavera a la Ciutat took place in different concert venues and clubs in downtown Barcelona, featuring many performances including 100 gecs, Boy Pablo, Rina Sawayama and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. The twentieth edition of Primavera Sound was considered an Event of Exceptional Public Interest by the Government's Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The NOS Primavera Sound 2022 was held on 9 to 11 June 2022 at the Parque da Cidade, Porto, Portugal. The festival was headlined by Tame Impala, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Pavement, Beck and Gorillaz.

The Born to Die Tour was the first concert tour by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey, in support of her second studio and major-label debut album, Born to Die (2012). The tour began on November 4, 2011, at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester, England and ended on September 25, 2012, at the Roundhouse in London, England. The tour visited cities in thirteen countries across three continents.

The Roskilde Festival 2016 was held on 25 June to 2 July 2016 in Roskilde, Denmark. The festival was headlined by LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, PJ Harvey, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wiz Khalifa, MØ, Tenacious D, New Order, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Neil Young + Promise of the Real.

The 2019 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival took place across two weekends: April 12 to 14 and 19 to 21 at the Empire Polo Club, Indio, California, United States. The three headlining acts were Childish Gambino on Friday, Tame Impala on Saturday and Ariana Grande on Sunday. The 2019 edition was the twentieth anniversary of the festival.
