Squid are an English post-punk band from Brighton, England. [1] Consisting of lead singer and drummer Ollie Judge, guitarists Louis Borlase and Anton Pearson, bassist Laurie Nankivell and keyboardist Arthur Leadbetter, they are currently based in Bristol. [2]
Squid released their debut EP Town Centre in 2019 on Speedy Wunderground [1] and have since released four singles on Warp Records. [3] [4] Their debut album, Bright Green Field , was released by Warp Records on 7 May 2021. [5] It received widespread critical acclaim and debuted at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. Their sophomore album, O Monolith , was released in 2023 to similar acclaim.
Squid formed in Brighton, England in 2016. [6] They have cited Neu! and This Heat as influences. [2] In 2019, they released their second EP, titled Town Centre, to critical acclaim. [1] Town Centre was produced by Dan Carey and released on Speedy Wunderground. In March 2020, Squid signed to Warp Records and have released five singles with them as of April 2021. [4] They were planning on touring Europe throughout 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic. [3]
Taking advantage of lockdown, the band spent most of 2020 recording what would be their debut album, Bright Green Field , again working with producer Dan Carey. The album was released on 7 May 2021 and was promoted by three singles, "Narrator", "Paddling" and "Pamphlets".
Squid appeared at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2022, and appeared at Rock en Seine and Paredes de Coura festivals in August 2022. They replaced Viagra Boys at La Route Du Rock festival in August 2023.
Squid recorded their second album, O Monolith , in Wiltshire in early 2022, before releasing on 9 June 2023, once again with Warp Records.
In November 2024, Squid announced their third album, Cowards, would be released on 7 February 2025 with Warp Records. [7] [8] [9] [10]

Warp Records is a British independent record label founded in Sheffield in 1989 by record store employees Steve Beckett and Rob Mitchell and record producer Robert Gordon. It is currently based in London.
Selected Ambient Works Volume II is a studio album by the British electronic music artist and producer Aphex Twin. It was released on 7 March 1994 through Warp Records. Its title follows James's debut Selected Ambient Works 85–92. Unlike that record, most of the tracks are purely ambient music, without the earlier volume's ambient techno beats. James said the music was inspired through lucid dreaming, and likened it to "standing in a power station on acid."

Mount Kimbie is an English electronic music group consisting of Dominic Maker, Kai Campos, Andrea Balency-Béarn and Marc Pell. Mount Kimbie was formed in 2008 by Maker and Campos. Citizen is an American rock band from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio that formed in 2009. The band currently consists of Mat Kerekes (vocals), brothers Nick and Eric Hamm (bass), Mason Mercer, and Ben Russin (drums). They are currently signed to Run for Cover Records, and have released five studio albums to date: Youth (2013), Everybody Is Going to Heaven (2015), As You Please (2017), Life in Your Glass World (2021), and Calling the Dogs (2023). Considered a part of emo's fourth wave, Pitchfork have described Citizen as "a band their fans can grow up with rather than out of."

Black Midi are an English rock band from London, formed in 2017. Their most recent line-up consisted of lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Geordie Greep and Cameron Picton, along with drummer Morgan Simpson. Between 2017 and 2020, the band also included guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin. Following his departure, the trio were frequently joined by multi-instrumentalist Seth Evans and saxophonist Kaidi Akinnibi, both as session musicians and during live performances. Their name is derived from the Japanese electronic music genre black MIDI, though their own music has no relation to it, instead incorporating styles such as math rock, progressive rock, post-punk, and avant-jazz.
Black Country, New Road are an English rock band formed in Cambridge in 2018. The original founders of the band consisted of Tyler Hyde, Lewis Evans, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne and Isaac Wood ; they added their then-seventh member, guitarist Luke Mark, in 2019.
