Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) is the main governing body of volleyball in Sri Lanka, where volleyball is its national sport. The game of volleyball was introduced to Sri Lanka in 1916 by R. W. Camack, then Director of Physical Education at the Colombo Y.M.C.A.

Sport in Sri Lanka is a significant part of Sri Lankan culture. Although the Sports Ministry named volleyball the national sport, the most popular sport is Cricket. Rugby union is also popular. Other popular sports are water sports, badminton, athletics, football, basketball and tennis. Sri Lanka's schools and colleges regularly organize sports and athletics teams, competing on provincial and national levels.

Kumara Wendakoon is a volleyball player, coach and the former head coach of the Maldives Men's National Volleyball team and Sri Lanka men's national volleyball team. He is currently the Secretary of Sri Lanka Schools' Volleyball Association and a Vice President of Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation. He played for National Junior and Senior Volleyball teams in 1980's.
