St Paul's Church is the parish church of Fazeley in the Lichfield district of Staffordshire, England. It is located south of Fazeley town centre and east of Drayton Manor Resort. It is located on Coleshill Street/A4091 road. The church was designated a Grade II listed structure by Historic England in October 1987. [1] It is an active place of worship and community gatherings.
Registers for the church began in 1816 and by 1842, Fazeley became a parish of its own. [2] In 1853, architect Henry Isaac Stevens and with funding and guidance from Robert Peel. The church was given a slated roof in during construction. [3] Original plans included the construction of a church tower, however due to lack of funding the plans were abandoned and the tower never completed. [4]
The church continues to serve the parish of Fazeley and surrounding villages and towns. [5]
The church is also part of the "Peels Parishes" alongside St Mary, St Giles & All Saints Church in Canwell, St Peter's Church in Drayton Bassett and Saint Barnabas Church in nearby Mile Oak.
The parishes have named their group after Sir Robert Peel. [6]
