Sting is the second mini-album by South Korean girl group Stellar. The EP consists of five songs and musically incorporates house, dance and pop/rock genres. It was released on January 18, 2016 by The Entertainment Pascal and distributed by Universal Music. To promote the mini-album the group appeared on several South Korean music programs, including Music Bank, Show! Music Core and Inkigayo .

Background and release

On January 8, 2016, it was announced that the group was making a comeback on January 18 with a new album titled Sting. It was also revealed, that the music video for the title track of the same name will be directed by Digipedi, the same video company that directed EXID's "Up & Down" and the choreography will be made by the same choreographer of KARA's "Mister". From January 11 to January 14, teaser photos of each member were released on their official fan cafe and Twitter account. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] On January 14, a teaser from the music video of the title track was released. [8] On January 16, the full track list was revealed [9] and on January 17 the full music video was released on their official YouTube channel. [10]

The mini-album was released digitally on January 18 and physically on January 25 by The Entertainment Pascal and distributed by Universal Music. [11] [12]

Commercial performance

Sting entered and peaked at number 13 on the Gaon Album Chart on the chart issue dated January 17–23, 2016. [13] In its second week, the mini-album charted at number 53 on the chart. [14] The EP charted for two consecutive weeks on the chart.

The mini-album placed at number 40 on the Gaon Album Chart for the month of January 2016 with 1,711 physical copies sold. [15]

Would You Like? is the debut extended play by South Korean girl group Cosmic Girls. "Dream Girls" is the official debut single by South Korean girl group project I.O.I for their first EP Chrysalis (2016). It was released as the title track from the EP by YMC Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment on May 4, 2016 in conjunction with the mini-album. The lyrics were written by Famous Bro and I.O.I's members Lim Nayoung and Choi Yoojung and the music was composed by Famous Bro and Paul. Naturalness is the ninth EP by South Korean girl group, Dal Shabet. The EP consists of six songs and one instrumental. It marked their first release as a four-member group since the departure of members Jiyul and Gaeun in early December 2015. It was released on January 5, 2016, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the group.

"Sting" is a Korean song recorded by South Korean girl group Stellar for their second extended play of the same name. The song was released on January 18, 2016 as the title track from the EP. It was produced and written by GDLO (MonoTree), who also worked on other songs for the EP. The music video was released on January 18 and a dance version on January 23, 2016.

"Marionette" is a song recorded by South Korean girl group Stellar for their first mini album of the same name. It was released as the album's second single on February 12, 2014.
