Tirania purpurea, the sole species in genus Tirania, is a species of climbing plant native to Asia. This genus is related to Forchhammeria and Stixis, but the placement of these three is uncertain. They were placed in Capparaceae until DNA studies showed them to be more closely related to Resedaceae that to Capparaceae. They are sometimes placed in their own family Stixaceae, but since it is not yet clear whether they are from a clade, they are better left in Brassicales unplaced at family rank.

Resedaceae family of plants

Resedaceae is a family of mostly herbaceous dicotyledonous plants comprising 107 known species in 8 to 12 genera:

Lamiinae Subfamily of beetles

Lamiinae, commonly called flat-faced longhorns, are a subfamily of the longhorn beetle family (Cerambycidae). The subfamily includes over 750 genera, rivaled in diversity within the family only by the subfamily Cerambycinae.

Monochamus Genus of beetles

Monochamus is a genus of longhorn beetles found throughout the world. They are commonly known as sawyer beetles or sawyers, as their larvae bore into dead or dying trees, especially conifers such as pines. They are the type genus of the Monochamini, a tribe in the huge long-horned beetle subfamily Lamiinae, but typically included in the Lamiini today.

Callimetopus Genus of beetles

Callimetopus, described by Blanchard in 1853, is a genus of longhorn beetle belonging to the subfamily Lamiinae, tribe Pteropliini. It is widespread in South-western Asia with many species in the Philippines and the adjacent islands and includes the following species:

Acalolepta Genus of beetles

Acalolepta is a genus of flat-faced longhorns beetle belonging to the family Cerambycidae, subfamily Lamiinae. Its members are found in the Indomalayan realm.

Ropica (genus) Genus of beetles

Ropica is a genus of beetles in the family Cerambycidae, containing the following species:

Phrissomini Tribe of beetles

Phrissomini is a tribe of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae. It was described by Thomson in 1860.

Bacchisa Genus of beetles

Bacchisa is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae.

Olenecamptus Genus of beetles

Olenecamptus is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae.

Eunidia Genus of beetles

Eunidia is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae.

Mesosa Genus of beetles

Mesosa is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, containing the following species:

Batrachorhina Genus of beetles

Batrachorhina is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, containing the following species:

Obereopsis is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, containing the following species:

Stixis is the scientific name of two genera of organisms and may refer to:

Pseudostixis flavifrons is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Aurivillis in 1914, originally under the genus Stixis.

Stixis grossepunctata is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1942.

Stixis itzingeri is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1936.

Stixis is a South-East Asian genus of plants in the order Brassicales; they are typically lianas. This genus has previously been placed in the Stixaceae and Capparaceae, but under the APG IV system is now included in the family Resedaceae.

Stixis scandens is a species of liana in the family Resedaceae and the type species in its genus. No subspecies are listed in the Catalogue of Life. It is found in Indo-China; in Vietnam it may be called quã dây leo.
